View Full Version : Wich new Planes would you like to see in future?

I´m impressed from the huge pool of planes in Il2. The AEP is a great Expansion, but there could be introduced more planes!

I for my own played "Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe" released by LucasFilm Games a LONG time ago. Il2 is the first game all planes can be flown wich you were able to fly in SWOTL, except one: The Dornier Do-335 Arrow.
I hope this Plane will find it´s way into this fantastic Flight sim.
How about you? Any dreams?

SWOTL was perhaps the coolest game of it's time, no doubt about it.
What I would like to see, apart from more bombers which I say every time this topic comes up, is a few more British fighters/ground-attack planes a typhoon, a Hurricane Mk IIc and a Mosquito...
It would also be really really cool to have the B-24 Liberator or maybe, now I'm really dreaming, some big British bombers and some nightfighters with working radar!
As you can see Oleg & co. there is a lot of work ahead if you want to make some allready satisfied customers even more satisfied http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif

I'd like to see some British planes like the Lancaster and Halifax, Tempest (I know, its coming soon), Beaufighter, Mossy, Short Sunderland, Wellington....

Yes, indeed...
Nightfighters would be great. Maybe a campaign over Germany: RAF vs Luftwaffe.
Just think about fighters like the He-219 etc....

B-25, B-26, B-24, Lancaster, B-29, B-17; Hell, why not just create a brand new bomber sim? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif I swear, I would pay $100 USD for it!!!

Now I have my Spit all I need is a Mosquito.

Oh and a Sopwith Camel, but I have to pray for Oleg to make a Great War sim for that.

I too anxiously await the Tempest. Others I'd really like to see are the gun nose A-20 and B-25, Mosquito, Spitfire IX, P-47N, and Whirlwind. I know that most if not all are in the works, so I may just get an early Christmas present. But the ones I really, truly want to have in the series are the F4F/Martlet, F6F, and F4U Corsair. Then I'd be happier than a sissy in boy's town. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

This wasn't used in any kind of offensive role but I think it would be fun to fly regardless. It might be tough to do the flight model though since it's characteristics were quite amazing.

Throw in a coupla carriers and a real Pacific map set, and I'm in for $50US for the expansion.

Bombers (lanc, b24, b17, b26)
Nightfighters; Heinkel UHU <<< Sweeettt
Hellcats, Corsairs..the usual "known planes" and my secret favs: P61B BLACK WIDOW and BOULTON PAUL DEFIANT.. - with working turrets

and least to forget; Curtiss P75 Hawks, Dewoitine 520's, Fokker DXII - the "planes that were NOT the best of the best" - as my dad uses to call them http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Mosquito would be nice, also a Heinkel He 219 uhu. Another vote for the Do 335 - or a 635 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gif (twin version like the 109z although this was never built)

Also just to get a mention in - how about a Gloucester (sp?) Meteor ?

- Mosquito, Lancaster, typhoon, tempest, Wellington, Blenheim, Beaufort
- Betty, Val, Shiden, carriers

I'm sorry but I disagree, the Super Sabre and Mig 15 really don't have a place in WW2 sim. If they allow those aircraft in then that would make things open to a slew of other Korean era aircraft that would be needed to keep the game balanced.

Oleg and Ubi have done a good job including the "Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe". The only other ones they've missed are the:

AR234 Blitz
Do335 Pfeil

Most importantly:

Allied:
Gloster Meteor (give allied pilots a chance against the new German jets)
B25 (coming)
Dehavilland Mosquito
Vought Corsair
Hellcat/Wildcat (either/or)
B29 Super Fortress
B24 Liberator
Halifax
Lancaster
Fokker DXII

Axis:
Imperial Betty Bomber
Aichi Val Dive Bomber
He 219
He 177
Me 262 (nightfighter versions)

I guess that about sums it up. We don't need every single one listed as theres almost enough there to warrent a new add-on. Honestly, I think the most important adds would be somemore Imperial Japanese aircraft to balance all the Eastern aircraft!

since there are maps of Normandy and the Ardennes now, the Tempest, Typhoon and Mosquito are sorely missed when trying to make believable missions. They were after all the number 1 problem for the SS panzer divisions in France/Belgium. BTW a map of Arnhem/Nijmegen would be cool as the Luftwaffe actually played more of a role there as compared to the invasion.

1) a Pe-2 for the russian as they really lack a modern bomber

2) Ju-88 since we always wanted one since the beginining of first Il-2

3) B-25 so the western front lovers can have there nice bomber

I'd like to focus on the eastern front from a historical view.
So I would like to have:

Present planes flyable:
- Pe-2
- Pe-3
- Pe-8
- SB-2
- IL-4
- Tu-2
- Blenheim I and IV
- MS-406
- P-36C
- MC202
- MBR-2
- PBY Catalina
- Ar-196

New planes:
- B-25
- A-20G
- Hampden
- Fokker D-XXI
- Fokker C-X
- Spitfire IX
- Be-4
- He-115
- BV-141
- Do-335
- MiG-5
- IL-10

Save other planes for BoB and PF.

all ai flyable from cockpit view, I'd gladly pay 49 for that with some new maps. It would really add to the russian german battles.

We are also missing many planes from the easternfront from russia and germany. Im not really a fan of these prototype aircraft and aircraft that seen only one mission with no combat

I'd like to see:

Spitfire IX, XIV, Tempest

And then tactical/medium bombers and strike
aircraft:-

Mosquito, Beaufighter, Ju88, Pe-2, Pe-3,
Tu-2, A20 (glazed nose too), B25, TBM,
SBD, Hampden, Blenheim, Hs126, 129.
A Hornet and/or Whirlwind would be nice

Flyable...Hmmm Let's see...

Axis:
Fw200 (especially capable in anti-shipping roles)
Ju88 (needs to be done)
Do17 or Do217 (As far as I know, hasn't been done in any sim yet)
Fw189 (The Luftwaffe's "Eye In The Sky", it should be equipped with a recon camera. That would be a new concept for a flight sim, no?)
Avia B.534
Hs129 (with optional tank-busting cannon)
Do-23G (to match the Tb-3)
Caproni Ca.310
Imam Ro.37
Ki-67
Aichi D3A

Allies:
They ESPECIALLY need bombers... in a major way:
Pe-8
Pe-2
Db-3
Il-4
Sb-2
B-17
B-25 (clear-nosed)
B-26
Lockheed PV-2 Harpoon (with top turret)
Douglas A-26 Invader
Avro Lancaster
Avro Manchester
Handley Page Halifax
Short Stirling
Grumman TBF Avenger
Douglas SBD Dauntless
F4U Corsair
Hawker Tempest & Typhoon
De Havilland Mosquito

Sea-planes:
Ar196 (too classic to not be flyable anyway)
He-115B
Blohm und Voss Bv138
Consolidated PBY Catalina

Additional jets:

Pulled out of a dive at 750 IAS (at about 2000m) today in QMB and the damned thing lost its right wing flaps and then just blew into an expanding cloud of wreckage.

This from an aircraft that could pull 740 km/ph (465mph) in a straight line!

the correct H81A-2 the ones we have now are underpowered export versions, not the ones that were sent to the AVG. Since the very specific paintscheme of the AVG is the default skin, the planes are obviously intended to be the aircraft given to the AVG, with could reach much higher speed than the plain-jane H81A-2 we have in this sim. An unfortunate oversight since the nature of the essentially hand-built engines for these aircraft is an obscure footnote to the story of the AVG but problematic for historical scenarios

I also wish that hammerd would be chained to a PC until he makes three correct historical skins for the aircraft instead of the single default skin we have now which innacurately incorporates all three sqaudron's markings http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I already have the pilot skins so...

We already have both...in the form of the Spit25lbs http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

Nice to see you mate. Hope things are cool with the Mrs. A Super Sabre still wouldn't catch the Spit mit 25 lbs, but it'd give the forces of darkness something to shine.

Me, I'd like to see some long range oceanic planes. PBY, Sunderland, that banana thing by Dornier. Also, some changes to the code that allow some air ground interaction like artillery control or direction of fighter bombers from a spotter. Not sure if this is possible but stuff evolves, you know.

It will be cockpit for Hs-129 that I had been waiting for it since IL2 come to our world long time ago. I did see Hs-123 picture but seem never happen. Also how about Ki-44 too.

Ummmm try get all cockpits add to rest of AI planes in same old IL2 plane list before go for other new planes!
