View Full Version : Sound patch anytime soon?

It looks like most (if not all) do not hear bullet hit sounds online now. Is there a plan to release a patch for this bug anytime soon? I am tempted to go back to old beta mg_sound.dll, but I was timing out using that file before.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Yes is true, but only in full servers with a lot of players.

Not a bug, but a lag problem....i mean.

OH I see. Well maybe DS patch may fix this? I guess I'll stick with new mg_sound for now.

ucanfly...I have the exact same problems still myself. I timeout on certain servers with tight settings and i get teh in cockpit gun sounds still. The old sound beta worked the same way. I didn't see any changes in my timeout problem. I did a complete fresh install of everything and it did not help.

I haven't had any problems with not hearing those sounds, I noticed just the opposite in one setting. We were flying a co-op doing ground takeoffs of Komets intercepting B-17s. Several of us on voice comms noted how we could hear the gunfire from distances so far away from the action we couldn't even see tracers. Yet the sound was as though we were in the middle of the melee. Something similar to this happened a couple of patches back when a German Sd.Kfz.251 firing at considerable distance sounded like it was parked on your left wing.

There are occassions when I don't hear the gunfire of an opponent. I just chalked it up to realism. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif
