Please if anybody else has this same joystick could you help me out with a decent profile?

Right now, no matter how hard I try I can't get this stupid thing to work well (I only have this stick because my old one died and this was free).

It's WAAAYYY to sensitive, almost to the point where it makes FB impossible to play, and every time I've tried tweaking with the profiles, both with the logitech profiler software, and with the profiler in the game.. nothing helps..

I got close but my planes have a constant tendancy to have downward pitch and left roll when the joystick is centered... I just can't get this stupid piece of **** to work http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Help?

Kind of ironic that:

1. Microsoft who made some decent Joysticks ... no longer does.

2. Logitech who has made some crappy Joysticks .. still does.

Have the the FFB stick also ... couldn't ever play it on my old Computer because the FFB would kill what few precious frames I had. Ibought the Logitech Digital 3D .. must have went through 3-4 of those in the last year.

But ... not because I was that stupid .. but because the place I bought them from kept offering me replacements LOL

I finally upgraded one of those for a Cordless Freedom 2.4. While alot better than the others Ive used .. still not as great as other brands.

The FFB Logitech you speak of is still in the basement ... never did try it again... although theres probably not much wrong with it ..

I always felt the FFB was a bit too distracting .. only good part of FFB was the abiliy to sense a stall coming a bit easier.

Logitech sticks are ****.I've used logitech cordless for 5 months and now I've sworn that I won't buy any logitech products again.

Stick won't center properly, rudder won't center properly, right bank is crappy and so on...
Last week I made myself something good and bought a Microsoft Force Feedback 2 and I'm very happy with it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif What a good stick!

All you can do is make more deadzones, which kill gameplay IMO.Sorry but you can't do anything besides this http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif .I've tried everything. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

I had a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro that lasted the usual 2 months. It seems it's the potentiometers that wear out. If anyone knows a source of replacement better quality pots, it would save a lot of sticks ending up in the bin. I've got a Saitek Cyborg Evo now.

I have a FFB Logitech. Everything right save the crappy 'twist' control. In fact, I have no rudder now, for 'twisting' just went mad.
Not too durable, you see.

And, yes. Way oversensitive, and difficult to aim with. And flying in a Fw 190 becomes a circus of spins and stalls, even if you try to fly smoothly.

I'm stick with it for budget reasons. But, when this one finally dies, never more.

Logi sticks are disasters http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

You have to dis-assemble the stick !
All the sensors in it "wiggle" in their position ...
Try and glue them with superglue http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Then go into FB's Hardware - Input and set your profile sliders to be very low starting then bending up and leveling out (all axis - although rudder is a matter of taste)...
You could also edit conf.ini in the main FB folder and replace the following section (cut-and-paste):
<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre">
[rts_joystick]
X=0 1 4 9 16 25 36 49 64 81 100 0

But better yet get a Saitek Cyborg evo FFB or a Saitek X52 in a few weeks http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Try calibrate again Force Feedback - yes Overal Effects Strength -80% Spring Effect Strength -80% Damper Effect Strength -80% Enable Centering Spring in FF Games -yes- 50% Then start game - Hardware Setup - Input Force Feedback - yes- Pitch 5,10,20,30,35,45,50,60,70,80 Dead Band 0 Filtering - put all the way to the right (1) Roll 0,1,9,16,25,36,49,64,81,100 Dead Band 0 Filtering - put in the midlle of the scale (0,5) Yaw 0,1,9,16,25,36,49,64,81,100 Dead Band 0 Filtering 0 Hope it can help somehow http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/53.gif The reason why my pitch and up with only 80 maximum is for turnfight, i can get pretty tight turn in most planes without getting in to spin when pull stick all the way even when loosing speed http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

Well, I just bought same kind of joystick and I had the same problem, plane started to roll left even if it was in untochable and CORRECTLY calibirated.

But go to Loghitechs wep page www.logitech.com (http://www.logitech.com) and download there calibration software. It heped me with my problem.

Also try to set dead areas and sensitivy correct to your playing style.

I feel you man. same here. 2nd logitek winman stick in a year. been looking for a good profile myslef for a while. I have the same exact stick as you. i'm planing on getting one of those X-45's with the throttle & peddels sooner or latter.. but i need more RAM 1st. that's prioty. I honstly have only been keeping with the wingman because i like the button locations. Now if i can just get used to Tir and fix my reflective diot problem i'll be all good to go.

Track-Ir has different solutions for the dot-problem http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

-1- use a white polystyrene ball on a baseball hat (that way Tir allways sees a circle http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif no matter where you look...
-2- use an active (battery powered Ir LED - any remote control unit has at least one) and an optic LED-lens (Electronics Hardware store)...

Saitek X45 is NOT FFB - although soon the Saitek cyborg evo FFB will come out soon.

At this point I would wait for the Saitek X52 and not buy the X45 anymore (X52 is far better - has a swivel stick instead of the stupid rudder-rocker) - is not FFB either though http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Saitek will bring out a "Gold" model of the cyborg evo soon too that does have FFB http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

logitech is cr@p. i had one and it worked for 1 week then it started spinning to the left. but only 2 of every three planes. it was intermittant. i just ate my loss and went and bought two precision pro2s on ebay.

all logitech sticks break and malfunction.

Get a Saitek stick next, the cyborg platinum is about 36 dollars (24 in the UK) and offers similar precision to a saitek X45. (haven't tried the Evo, have an X45 though)
The thing with the logitech sticks is that their input "range" seems to be a lot smaller making inputs seemingly jerky and planes stall much faster. With my logitechs I could never really pull back on the stick without flipping over into a stall, with my saitek sticks I can.
Initially it felt as if someone turned the stall option off, the difference between my saitek and logitech sticks was that great.
I guess you can get used to flying with a logitech stick, there must be lots of people out there flying with 'em it's just that I never could.

On the other hand I DO find logitech sticks great for flying choppers in BF Vietnam, the X45 is too slow for that. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Saitek sticks have digital value output (USB) that's perfect (0-1023) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif never had a problem...

Check Hardware-input http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif maybe sliders there...

a second hand MS FFB2 would be a better idea .. except most people that have them will not part with them
