This delta-wood must have been something real extra. I hit a AI Lagg3 with at least one 30mm shell from a Me109G6 nosegun,in the wingroot, fuselage area. I thought that he should go down. Direct after the hit he accelerate-climbed and hit me with some projectiles.
Then he outcurved me and hit my at least two times wing with his nosegun 20mm.
I got fotball sized holes in my wing and the A/C flew like a brick.

I found it perculiar that no other countries discovered the secret of this marvoulus wooden material.

Poor german pilots, equipped with aircrafts equipped with weak guns, engines and frames, mostly outnumbered often outcurved, sometimes outspeeded by an enemy with planes built in this fantastic material.
I understand why they lost so many pilots compared to VVS on the eastern front.

No wounder I prefear flying laggs and yaks.
I have it all on a track.

Neither: plastic impregnated wood.

Now: why does it feel I have heard it all before?

Its already been stated (ad infinitum) that weapons on some aircraft are under powerd so I guess it might be worth waiting for the patch before we start moaning about so called indestructable aircraft

Oh my god Zugfuhrer (eh, is that supposed to be German? Then it's wrong.) You're not saying that there's a bias in the game are you? What a surprise!

Please do share some more anecdotes and whines.

Remember a good wood ply will have better behaviour than aluminium under fire. If for example a 20mm HE cannon round enters your upper wing surface along the leading edge and then explodes then it will bulge and rip the aluminium however it only gets worse from here, because you now have a large chunk of skin dragging in the 350 mph slipstream which is going to cause it to rip even more, eventually tearing off a whole chunk of skin leaving a big hole, If your leading edge was wood then the initial explosion would of blown the ply to pieces, you would not get any bent bits of ply sitting in the slipstream creating drag until it tears off more skin further back. Remember the Mossie was all wood.
