Agents, incoming State of the Game transmission:

During the last State of the Game (https://tomclancy-thedivision.ubisoft.com/game/en-gb/news/detail.aspx?c=tcm:154-299010-16&ct=tcm:154-76770-32), Community Developers Yannick Banchereau and Hamish Bode sat down to discuss Global Event leaderboards, masks, and maintenance updates.

This week, Yannick was joined by Hamish again to discuss the Global Event leaderboard tier system, granting mask rewards retro-actively & improvements to future Global Events.

We have seen a large number of community complaints in regards to the Global Event leaderboards and the associated mask rewards. We acknowledge that the leaderboard system had issues, which was entirely on us. Due to some internal miscommunication, the rewards percentages we communicated were not the correct ones. The system did work as intended, but not as what you’d expect based on what was communicated to the community. The reason behind this was additional, hidden ranking system.

Because of this miscommunication, we have decided to pull the data of all players within the top 85% on the leaderboards and retro-actively grant the missing masks manually. This process is not immediate and will take at least a couple of days and more information will be coming soon.

The criteria that will be used for the manual grants of masks are:

Place in the top 85% to 31% of the community

1 Mask

Place in the top 30% to 11% of the community

2 Masks

Place in the top 10% to 1% of the community

3 Masks

Additionally, we have found ourselves in agreeance with community feedback that the current tier system used is not optional and can be improved. We will be focusing our efforts on improving this system for future Global Events and the next event will not be utilizing the same system. No firm decision have been made as to what these changes will look like as of yet.

Classified Gear is now available in the general loot pool after the conclusion of the “Outbreak” event with 1% drop rates in caches and 3% drop rates from named bosses in the open world and the Dark Zone.


The next Global Event will be “Assault” where the theme will be distance to the enemy. Assault was the second GE tested on the PTS, so some of you have already gotten a taste of what is coming! Assault will start before the launch of Update 1.8, but we need to make sure the reward systems mentioned above are in place before running it.

Finally, the latency investigation continues and we have made some significant progress but it is still ongoing and we don’t currently have any concrete news to share. Stay tuned to future streams for developments on these topics!

I don't think mask are so a big thing.

I loved the globel event and thank you for this new cool feature. I got something new (clasified gear) to grind for with a modifiere (GE) which made playing different and realy fun for myself.
I also understand and think your delayed implementation of classified set is a clever move, easy new stuff every month. (btw. this way I play set I didn't before, like lone star)
Beside I don't think mask are so important, I understood your percentage as the rest of the community and thought your math is completly off :)
So I agree and think your reaction with manualy granding the prices as your communication was understood,
as the best you could do. Very good reaction. Now complaining about leaderboard should stop, fine sollution, just be patient Agents.

I also totaly agree that you overwork and fix leaderboard before running it again.

What I don't want, is to wait for the next Global Event. Not even an hour. Just because of some Mask (vanity stuff).
I would like to see, that you run the Assault GE as planed and a OUtbraeak GE Weekend in between the waiting time.
If your not done with a new leaderboard (understandable, giving the time), thats fine leave it off, no leaderboard no reward (or if you can't leave it of, just give a cache to everyone, no mask).
We all would be happy to just have GE.

And when you done with the new leaderbord, do another GE Assault with leaderboard.

Pleaes consider this timeline approche regarding the leaderboard issue.

I'm hoping that the "X amount of GE credits per hour" requirement is scrapped. Some people who play regularly aren't going to hit anywhere near the 15000 GE that was being reported on the leaderboard.

There needs to be a little something for casual gamers as rewards, otherwise they'll just feel alienated by elitist requirements.

I really enjoyed this Global Event and look forward to the next :)

I think A lot of people cared about the masks because there wasn't much in this patch to grab on to that was valuable. I think that's why it's important to treat masks as valuable for now.

The first GE Outbreak was not fun for me.
The Assault GE is the one I'm looking forward to. On the PTS, it was by far the better GE.

Ok so I am having trouble with your math and the phrasing of how to get a mask, I placed into position 9628 out of 164848 player, Does this mean that I "Place in the top 30% to 11% of the community" at 17% or is it people in the same "rank" as me and I are a different percentile. So the real question is is it based on what position or is it based solely on your score and that rank? If you could explain this more it would better explain how we will be rewarded for the work we did.

Is it going to stay that there is no such thing as solo pve survival now as in getting fed up with finding a group clearing everything meaning I can't find meds div tech etc meaning my games shorter and unable to make gold weapons they go in as a group and kill the same npcs I do which is harder on solo than grouped meaning the solo player hasn't got a chance so plz sort this issue out
Plz make solo for solo players and match making for groups as with a group going in killing the same amount of npcs as a solo player a group can hit the dz with in ten mins meaning they can clear most of the dz of supply's before the solo player gets close meaning no gold weapons no meds medpacks etc making this mode a real waste of time
I play with loads of agents from round the world who like solo pve and they are all saying it isn't worth the time or effort anymore and are not playing as much
If there isn't a solo pve in survival anymore it's going to ruin the game for so many so can you plz sort something
I have bought the issue up in state if the game but nothing is ever replayed to
