Anyone know where I can get some actual gun camera footage, I would like some for a squad site that I am working on.

I dunno if this site has gun camera footage, but it's a really great site for WWII era videos and stuff. Unfortunately the quality isn't fantastic (they want you to buy the high quality DVDs http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif ) but some really great stuff here.

http://www.zenoswarbirdvideos.com/

Also here is another good site which does have some gun cam footage.

Yes go to www.rareaviation.com (http://www.rareaviation.com)

he has lots of DVD's but no PTO just yet. 35.00 bucks for a DVD, but it has a ton of stuff, and pilots listed on it!

Bug him on the PTO! Someone on this site was going to get one of his DVED's look at past posts ask him how he likes the stuff!

Good luck! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

be carfull on some of these i have a cd and its taken from movie reels and the quality is horindus the few you see with a fw shooting at p-38/47 and stangs the camera is not looking were the pilot is shooting so you miss a lot of the dog fight (although you can tell it was lots of skill on both sides) so as the -47 gets shotup you actualy miss lots of it, but you can see how hard it realy is to shoot, just like FB

Considering its "my" call sign on the side of the plane, "my" name being covered by "my" dead hand, I find it just right. Just a little bit of forshadowing for my first few flights against some of you pros.

I will more than make up for this sig when I launch my new squad site tomorrow. I spent all weekend building the site and it is perfect. Just finising the forums today.

Just looked at the site. Not bad!! The footage shown, that's from the Fighting Lady movie posted at Zeno's site right?? That's a nice touch.

BTW, I reckon yer sig is pretty cool. Quite poignant in a way. Just ignore the weird guys who think that the mere thought of anything with blood and USA insignia in the same picture is treasonous!!!

BTW, just a couple of tips for you, (I think you said you hadn't flown IL-2 before???) there are a couple of cool campaigns with US aircraft in them created by Extreme_One, the first is called "The Real Deal" and the second is "North and South". North and South is a combined Japanese and US campaign. You can fly either for the US, or for the Japanese, and the missions for both are interlinked. And his most recent one is called "Two Little DUCs" about the 354th FS, 355th FG, 9th AF (I think) which I haven't tried yet. The skins and voice packs for these are included in the executable and install themselves automatically into your game folders.

The Real Deal (http://www.netwings.org/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcd.cgi?az=redirect&link_id=000001570&url=http%3A%2F%2Ffiles.netwings.org%2Ffiles%2Ffb_m issions%2FUSAAF_campaign_folder_v1.21%2FUSAAF_1_2. zip)

North and South (http://www.netwings.org/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcd.cgi?az=redirect&link_id=000001634&url=http%3A%2F%2Ffiles.netwings.org%2Ffiles%2Ffb_m issions%2FNorth_and_South%2Fnas.zip)

Two Little DUCs (http://www.il2sturmovik.com/download/missions/DUCKY.exe)

These will help you get to grips with the US aircraft and give you a helluva lotta fun too!!

I'm sure if I were to switch it to resemble a zero with us kill marks would make it all better.
