I just bought...

FLYING GUNS WW II
http://www.aeroplanebooks.com/fguns.jpg
by Anthony Williams and Dr. Emmanuel Gustin

...and WOW! This is clearly now THE definitive book on WWII aircraft armament. TONS of great information, photos. I just can't say enough about it. I covers just about anything you'd want to know about the guns of WWII aircraft and the ammo they fired.

Get it at:

http://www.aeroplanebooks.com/CurrentMonth_pg2.htm

They only have 3 left. You won't think the price is high once you read it.

BTW, Anthony Williams was a regular over at Butch's now defunct Allaboutwarfare site.

I've been reading it all night. Hard to put down. Tons of good information.

It has line-drawings of all of the major aircraft guns. Comparative tables. Tons of photos of guns, rounds, as well as photos of cut-away rounds.

Really a neat book.

Now it will be fun participating in Chimp's arguments. For sure it's gonna be facts and nothing but the facts.

Forget about buying the book. I'm just gonna agree with him, it'll be easy to fake. Finally now I can share in instant FB V.I.P. status, and be a good American too http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hay SC! Any stuff in the book on PBY gunmounts and the blister? I could use some line drawings of the .50 cal and its sight on the PBY.

Gibbage, Tenmike is correct. No drawings. And I alos recommend a Signal Walk-Around Book on that plane. It will surely have something:

WWII armor is fascinating to me. Modern armor seems too much like "work."
