This way FB would maybe get some improvements that are being put into PF?

It would be easier to have just one sim to make updates for.

Of course online servers will be able to limit plane sets just like in FB. Surely there will be many pure pacific theatre servers.

The guys that want to will be able to do that many more things if everything is kept in one piece.

It would be just plain interesting if the planes that never met in WWII could meet in the sim. I want to see what a Hellcat or F4U could do against a 109 or a yak.

When they sell it go ahead, put a big pic of an Corsiar on the front of the box like MS did in cfs2. It will sell a lot this way. You can throw FB patched to AEP in the box for next to nothing, and the second disk could be the PF add-on. This will replace the gold-pack in stores. And of course like the AEP, PF will be sold seperately for those who already invested in previous disks.

There, all figured out. If there are any more problems I can solve just add them below and I will be glad to help. S!

You probably haven't been attending this forum. This topic has been discussed considerably recently. But thanks for your help http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

No make it a new game with Hellcat burning under zero into the sea http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. I already have FB and have been playing it for years.

Looking forwards to banishing all those boring Russian planes to my desk shelf. And unhistorical planes sets flying together is absurd..

If you want to carry on playing FB go ahead! PF will not be an addon any way, final http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.

Boring Russian planes?? Please!! For years we
saw Spitfires & Mustangs and German steeds. What made IL2/FB/ACES so refreshing was the Russian planes. The Mongolian campaign, Manchurian action & russian planes in china would make the inclusion of some russian planes
a natural. The fact that Russia also borders
the pacific helps too.

That said i still can't wait to fly my Hellcat against Zero's. It should be a lot easier to land on carriers than a Hog. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

It does not seem economically wise to make another expansion for FB. From what I observed the AEP expansion was pretty obscure at least where I live. ALso there is the problem of configuration compatibility for online play.

I would not be unhappy if there was a way to merge the FB+AEP+PF games, but I find it hard to believe that new (to IL2) buyers will not be alienated online if this happens since you have to buy FB+AEP to be compatible with servers that have this. Are you requiring two addons?

Maybe the answer is that Oleg should update AEP FM and DMS to be consistent with any common aircraft between AEP/FB and PF, since PF will obviously not replace PF in many (if not all) HDD, unlike the original IL2. Making PF purely an addon doesn't make much business sense, especially with all the work going into it, and the fact that it is really a new theater in war. I just hope that they don't undercut us in any way in the missions dept (like was done in AEP) so that we get the full mission set of Maps in DGEN. Making BOE a separate product from AEP was a mistake IMO.

theres no logic in making PF an add on to FB. If i see LA7s fighting corsairs at pearl harbor i think id have to break the CD.
