Hi,

I'm in posession of my copy of IL2 Sturmovik since it came out and i'm totally addicted to it, but i never got my sound "right". I have a Creative Soundblaster Live! Value 1024 and it works perfectly, but in IL2 the sound seems to have an aweful lot of crackling during gameplay, no stuttering and such...

My settings:
SB Live! Value 1024 with 4 speakers and Subwoofer;SETTINGS IN IL2: Custom settings, DirectX soundmode, 32 Channels, Quadrophonic type, default speaker placement, Environmental Accoustics, Volumetric Sound and Realistic Occlusion; ENABLED
3D Engine Mode: FULL, Sampling 22050KHz, Hardware ENABLED..

Installed Drivers in Win2K: AUDIOHQ and Autodetected drivers (win2k found my card and i did not install any drivers that came with my SB Live! Value 1024 card)

with this setup in il2 my sound has about 2 modes under volume control; off or JUMBOJET volume and i can only adjust it with my speakers volume control....

Anyone got some advice on how to get a better soundsetup?

regards,

I fixed my probs w/my SBLive! by right clicking the volume icon>Adjust Audio Properties>Playback>Performance. There I lowered my Hardware Accleration & Sample Rate Conversion Quality down 1 notch from the maximum.

Ditto. I did the same thing as Teuful, sound issues cleared up. You might try various in game sound settings if the above doesn't work.

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-mad.gif ...I've been messing around with my settings a LOONGG time now...since the last post in this thread..(07-03-04 )...

Lowered the performance slider and tried various combinations in IL2 ..still the crackling is there, but only as enginevolume increased (over 30% power)...

It seems as il2 boosts my sound and someway overpowers my speakers in some way...and it occurs randomly and ONLY in external view.. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Note: I'm in posession of IL2/FB too now, and the same problem returns there too, but far less often..
Please help me out here, i need to turn down my volume buttons by HALF each time i'm gonna play il2 and still the volume is loud..

-With or without "extensions" i have just 2 options on the internal il2 volume-knob: OFF or LOUD.. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
