It can't be done because there are no documents showing the instrument panels etc etc. So stop asking.

Unless you have an uncle who was a spy in 1940 and stole blueprints for them and saved them in his attick, forget it!

There will never be a PE2 or 3 in IL2 ever. Asking over and over and over again will not make it happen.

Sheesh!

You're exactly right...

Apart from the bits after you said "It can't.." /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

There are several perfectly preserved Pe-2 in collections in Russia eg at (http://aeroweb.lucia.it/~agretch/Monino/mon94js_pe2.jpg>Monino)

Gonzo here must be looking to model the Pe~2/3. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Of course the FM needs FM documentation too, but if there is none then Oleg could approximate as we are dealing with a "missing classic."

...but we don't have the engine sounds WWHHAAAA.

Well, put like that, then No Pe~2/3. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

But then at least we may not (or may) get the frame "stutter" like in aircraft with sounds.

I sincerely wish that I was wrong about the Pe2 Pe3 Pe8 etc but I doubt it. It's been said over and over. Why do you think no other Sim has modelled these? There is a reason.

Show me somebody who has the material and is doing a model and I will eat crow.

Ill be waiting...

Because every other sim due to market-focus or cultural background has kept regurgitating sims based in the ETO or PTO.

Although...you could be right. Why wasn't there a Pe-2 in EAW?

*sigh*

Because it was not an eastern front sim, silly. There were no Russian planes in EAW at all!!!

At the start of WW2 the German army lacked experienced anti-aircraft gunners. The average gunner was so bad that the USSR decided to help them out. They did it by forcing some of their pilots to fly I-153 flak magnets. These planes were slow but very sturdy. This allowed German anti-aircraft gunners to get a large amount of target practice on a relatively small number of planes. Thanks to the Soviets help, by the end of the war the German anti-aircraft gunners were amoung the best in the world.

How you like that crow, rare, medium or well done?

As for plans, I can't be convinced that you couldn't find some 3-views detailed enough to get the job done. In fact, a look at my catalog for Bob's Aircraft Documentation shows that they have plans for Pe-2s in the highest grades they sell (which often have detailed writeups, wing root cross sections, details on cabin stations, etc.

Anything else you'd need, it seems like you can get straight from the source, so to speak, using a digital camera.

Gonzo, il2center has had a Pe-2 and 3 in developement for awhile now..... my crow always tastes better with Tony Chachere's Cajun Seasoning. Works great on mudbugs too! I'm not trying to flame anyone, but I wanna fly them from something besides external. (apparently there is a flight model, and sounds already....)

(I haven't been to Sig's 'R Us yet, so sig is forthcoming)
