It would be sweet if someone made a USA campaign and you started in a biplane (training) went up to a p39. Then comes Pearl Harbor. Fly some fighter sweeps. Then a tour in the Pacific w/ P-40 or P38. If you survive reup for another tour in Europe. Maybe train on a T-bolt. Then go through the evolution of the Mustang B C D over Germany.

Just an idea that I thought would be cool and I'm incapable of doing. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

This is a great idea and kinda sad that noone thought imaginatively enough to have this kind of thing.

It would not just work for US planes or single mission campaigns, but ALL planes and dynamic missions.

The situation...

You`re a Russian pilot on the Eastern Front at the start of a campagn, the brief tells you that there are Germans on the border, but it is not your concern. You are a new recruit and your first mission is `training` flight in your first I16 with your squad. Up you go, after a minute or two of flying you`re suddenly alerted to danger! LW planes attacking! What the?! Time to fight!

or...

You go up fly in a simple waypoint formation and land back at base. You get congrats from the Leader for taking off and landing successfully, etc... Perhaps there could be 2 or 3 missions like this to start, basic flying, basic target shooting or ground attack with the possible surprise attack of a German invasion.

On the LW side, you`d have your training and be immediately posted to the front, or train a few missions longer. If you start later in the war as a noob, then there could be surprise Russian, Allied attacks on one training mission.

Similar stuff like this would work for the Brits and other nations. It just takes a little imagination. Damn, wish I could make dynamic Campaigns! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Actually, several mini-campaigns and mission packs have included two or three "training" missions at the front of the action...usually with a navigation exercise, target shooting, dive-bombing, etc. Extreme/Poymando RAF Campaign has a couple of training missions. Several of the LW Eastern Front mission packs have training flights.

But a more complex campaign, with the go/no go testing criteria that could wash out a pilot, etc...then progress related to a specific organization...that could be interesting. Good idea.

with a static campaign, you really can't do a go/no go unless it is run via coop where the mission builder has control over what missions get flown or generated.

This does severely increase the number of missions to be made.

it's do-able but we'll need better FM's for the T-bolt and better .50 cal's because if you do it now you'll get hammerd everytime in the Tbolt.

How about take someones career like Bud Anderson. He flew p39, 2 or 3 different Mustangs (I think T-bolt not sure)and was a test pilot on the P-80. Someone could try to script it like his most famous missions and see if you can live for 2 tours and a test pilot.

I have already considered this but we just don't have the right planes available.

That's why I'm looking forward to a British Gladiator cockpit to be done.

My current campaign (WIP) follows the "career" of an entire Squadron. It's proabably the most historically accurate one I've done yet.

More later...

That sounds great I enjoyed your Real Deal camp and am looking forward your new one! What is the estimated time of arrival?

It's going to be ready when I finish it - and AEP and BoE keep calling to me - I actually fly sometimes too now http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Seriously - I've done about 20 missions which are being tested by a few people now and I reckon it's going to be at least 40 missions long (maybe 50 or more!) plus I've yet to do the tracks.

It'll be a while but I think it'll be worth the wait (I hope)

WARNING It's going to be a bit different to my previous stuff as it's very historically focussed.

You didn't offend me - my little joke may have seemed that way.

I hope people do like this one as it will be a bit different...
