Remember the new airbases that Ian Boys did?
If not look here:
http://www.il2sturmovik.com/forgotten_battles/fb_development_0905.php

Did those somehow appear in the 1.21 patch or what? I haven't seen them anywhere....

We don't even know if new maps are coming in the addon or not...

I haven't heard anything anyways except one Oleg comment that UBI was suggesting that there would be new maps. I hope that would mean expanding the low-lands country in the ETO so we can have more USAAF/RAF/Luftwaffe fighting.

On topic... Does anyone know if there is a 3rd party tool to make maps? I mean.. I have seen some online maps that are not in the game.. So, that means someone made a map.. And that the software is setup to download said map to your PC... Anyone have any idea on this?

Here's a question related to Tagert's post: Is there anyway of changing the color/texture of the taxi and runways at the non-concrete airbases? It's hard enough taxiing with a tail dragger, without also not being able to differentiate very well between taxiway and open ground. I can tell the difference, but not very easily, and when I'm at a base I'm not familiar with, it's a bugger trying to find the darn runway! Just make them a bit darker (muddier, especially in winter maps) and I'll be happy!

PS Tagert, I believe the only downloadable maps available right now are just the regular maps with different things on them, thru the FMB, like the racing maps for example.

I hear yah.. Tiz the limitations of the sim I guess... Or is it? I mean what would be wrong with enabling exteral views while your on the gnd... ie taxi and landing? On that note... I wish I mean W I S H they would add an option that disables external views on fighters.. but enables it on bombers! But.. too late Im sure.

Huh? Ok, wasnt sure, still aint.. but you can tell the maps are kind of hacked... in that near the edge of the maps... on these of which I speak you can see how it does NOT address the edge very well in that lakes and rivers get... get... well... get re-drawn off into infinity... Where on the orginal maps... the edge off into infinity is just blank flat ground or water

PS... All them F117s... You live out near Las Cruces or Alamogordo? I use to work out at white sands and use to love watching the F117s take off from highway 70.
