As a mission starts, the fuel guages appear full, by default. That's OK on a long mission. But if, for example, your airfield is about to be raided, is there any way to dump most of the fuel?.(either at takeoff oir immediately thereafter, or later in flight?)

No there isn't but I don't know if that was available in real lifez also (il2's very strict on that, very realistic) but set your mixture to 120% if you can that'll burn fuel quicker to

Well some of the planes seem to be very fuel efficient and 25% fuel will last for most missions. But what I do to hedge my bet is to put 25% fuel in the plane and then take external fuel tanks. If you get jumped quickly, you can always jettison the external tanks and you have 25% left. If not you have a lot of fuel to loiter.

P-51D, P-47, P-38 all had huge fuel tanks, and will fly farther on 25% fuel than a 109 will go on 100%, so it goes.

know your ride.

I assume you mean in the offline campaign.

In the campaign you can change weapon loadouts and fuel load before the mission once you are ranked at the equivalent of Major or above.

If you started the campaign below Major you cannot change fuel loadout until you reach that rank.

Fly between your flight leader and a target. He'll happily put a few holes in your wings, letting out the excess fuel http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
