When the forum is running slow DON'T hit the "Post Now" button several times in frustration. Click on it once and wait...

It happened to me and the screen stayed frozen for a minute and a half, so I rehit the button. Guess it might happen if the forum is really busy...

You can. Just use the Edit feature!!! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif

ELEM, it has been the norm lately that whenever I try to delete a posting I made, all I get is a page saying that message deletion "is not supported by this forum". http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/52.gif

Whether this has anything to do with me routinely disabling ActiveX controls in order to minimise spyware and spam on my rig, I don't know, but it really should not stop me from editing my messages.

This is the exact message:

"This forum does not allow messages to be deleted."

SUPERAEREO, are you saying you dont have the Edit button at the bottom right hand side of your posts?

No ELEM, I am saying that the Edit button does not let me DELETE my messages.

The other day when I tried to edit one, it just added one extra message.

But the main thing is that it does not let me delete anything, and I just get the silly message.

I wonder if this happens to others as well.

S!

PS: just tried - I can EDIT now (guess it was just a temporary thing the other day), but I still cannot DELETE: when I press the Delete Message...? I am told that "This forum does not allow messages to be deleted."

A bug or what?

Forum setting. Admin can turn the ability to delete on or off for any group of users they care to set up. Currently only mods and admins can delete in the IL2 forums.

Edit: P.S. I'm getting carpal tunnel syndrome deleting double posts, hence this thread http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I would be willing to bet that if individuals were allowed to delete posts it would extend to all posts. Obviously we don't want just anybody out there have the "Power To Delete". Leave it with the Mods and Admin. guys. If you accidently double post just go back and edit out all the text.
