I found out that there is another WW2 sim based on pacific front in dewelopment http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-mad.gif Here is the link:http://www.heroesofthepacific.com/.
And here is some game info:
25 actual WWII aircraft available to the player, plus hidden and locked plans including the Japanese Zero
Over 300 planes on-screen each with full AI and dog-fighting physics
Incredible graphical detail on plane and ship models (15,000 - 30,000 polygons) with multiple complex lighting effects
Realistic environments, including dynamic 3D water
Control up to 32 wingmen through an innovative, fast-access menu system
Over 30 missions taken from real events of the Pacific Theatre campaign - the Battle of midway, Wake Island, The Marianas, Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal.
An engrossing storyline featuring rich character development against the backdrop of the intense naval conflict in WWII's Pacific Theatre
Multiplayer allows the player to take part in Split Screen, Link Up or Online multiplayer battles:
Dogfight
Team Dogfight
Capture the Flag
Fox and Hounds - hold the flag the longest
Multiplayer Missions - cooperative mode

What do you think about it?

Its designed for consoles. Thats not a bad thing but the medium determines how things are done and this will not be competition to Pacific Fighters in any way that I can see.

I personally don't know anything about this game either. But according to their website it will be for both the console and PC.

More than likely it'll be "arcadish" and not really a sim.

Ok! It went balistic, in other words it will be a game that no one will play. That is the comon fate of games that got stuck between a sim and a arcade. There in no chance that this mix will work good. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

Hidden planes to unlock? As in NFS racing games?

Is there an 'final stage big enemy'? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

This can't be a sim...

Maybe this "unlocking planes" idea can have practical applications. In DF servers, for example, get to a specified total number of kills then, and only then, can you unlock the Ki-84c. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
