Does anyone what type of lighting and shadows will be used? I imagine that for PF it will be the same as FB but what about BoB? I was wondering if the AC would cast shadows on themselves(like the real time shadows from the wings on the fuselage and so fourth) and also real time shadows in the cockpit from the windowframes. I have seen these in the CFS3 intro movie which promised a lot but the actual product was such a let down!!! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif Anyway that effect of the shadows moving around in the cockpit as you are weaving and turning is absolutely awesome!!!! I hope that we see something like this in BoB. Does anyone know anything about this?

I'm just guessing. You're right about PF being the same as Il2:FB - same exact engine. I wouldn't expect anything different in terms of eye candy that we currently have. BoB (brand new engine) - I can't imagine why they wouldn't use dx9b + with the crazy bells and whistles for rending photorealistic images. I would expect some incredible eye candy like realistic metal skin, insane levels of bumb mapping, etc..

I'm very much expecting to see self shadowing as an option. It may only be possible on some of the very latest cards but in a few years those cards will be bargin versions and everyone will be able to do it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Besides, options are just that.

But I expect to see some fairly impressive upgrades in the visual department. I also expect that some things won't be as spectacular as we expect...what we've already got is QUITE spectacular in itself.

Download the E3 movies. There is plenty of new eye-candy.

I'm not even gonna consider a system rebuild for BoB untill the generation of video cards is a full level above the current best.
