If you downloaded the game legaly it would have directions on their website as well as a manual.pdf. Also if you have a licensed version of Nero you would have a manual that would tell you how to use .bin files and .cue files.

Well, Oleg, I believe you. I was clueless about image files, and had all that stuff, so don't bust on Oleg if you don't know, people. Benefit of the doubt.

Those two files are what's called an '
image'. The .bin actually contains the data, and the .cue gives, I believe, instructions to whatever reader you use to access the file. I use a program called Daemon Tools which creates a virtual cd drive on my machine. An image can then be mouted to it, and it behaves as if I actually had a real cd in a real drive. Think of it as a picture of the data on a disk . . . a picture that is so good that your machine cannot tell it from a real cd.

I hope that helps.

I'm interested to know what game you could download legally as a BIN/CUE.

If that's the case then surely the site you downloaded it from has instructions.

I could tell you how to do it but I don't condone illegal copying of software and I would like to see this site you downloaded the legal game from before I tell you.

I dl'd a beta version of some software that came in this way . . . from Microsoft! Yes, I am a registered tester, and that is why I got it. If you beta test, this is the way you will recieve the game, these days, at least from some developers.

NERO contains an option called "burn image", either under "file" or "recorder", depending on what version you're using. Select it, then go to the directory containing the cue and bin file. Open the cue file and you're ready to burn.
If it doesn't work, then it's possible that the file name mentioned in the cue file is incorrect. If so, just edit it with notepad or another text editor.

I also download software like BETA OS's from Microsoft as I can.

However I don't know anyone in such a position who doesn't know what a CUE file is. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

open nero

select burn image from the file tab.
browse to where you have the 2 files ( you have to select all files to see files which are not nrg files )
double click on the CUE file then nero will start burning the CD using the info in the bim file.

easy

And is very polite . . .

I can't see scolding someone over something that they simply haven't learned yet. Some of us are a good bit older, and are still in the dark about some things.

Personally i think your all naive to think that this kid actually has legal software that he is trying to burn. But...no matter...there aint too many of us that didnt try it once or twice.I used to do it years ago and then usually ended up buying the game or software because i liked it. Searching...downloading....and burning illegal software is just to big of a pain...easier to just buy it.
