I'm looking to gather some resources on the standard types of markings used by the Royal Austrialian Air Force, the Fleet Air Arm, and the South East Asia Command (RAF) aircraft. Includes the Seafire's, Spitfires, and Beaufighter.

The intention is to send that in so that we in PF, the most accurate markings possible for those sides. Color plates, paint serial numbers, and photos are useful. I've been gathering plenty from sources online and I have a few pictures I can scan but undoubtedly some of you have more resources than I. If you can post here or private topic me (or e-mail later) then that'd be great.

Some of you may not even be aware that RAF units in the PTO used an entirely different type of roundel to ensure they were not confused with the Japanese aircraft markings. So it'll be a learning experience for all no doubt!

this site might have what you need for the FAA:

Anyone else?

Attempting to ensure that we get the best possible marking accuracy (unlike the current RAF markings in FB) and I figured a few would jump at the chance.

I will send what I have by end of the weekend. But its not as detailed as I may want it to be.

Well I'm looking for anything really. But it'd be nice to have some sort of color index, or official documents pertaining to markings (of any of the three), or even the sizing. I know the SEAC roundels are all very small in comparison to the standard used in Europe.

And thanks for the links, I'll have a good look over those and gather my stuff and e-mail it off.

Also, color profiles of anything...Spits, Seafires, or Beaufighters are good. I'm having good luck finding black and white shots but actual color images of anything is difficult. Whatever you guys can dig up!

Check your email Icefire and get back to me ASAP about it. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif Especially what's needed RAAF-wise (as what I've sent is ample for the RNZAF as they aren't going to add it for PF's initial release anyway.... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-mad.gif).

I hope Oleg and Luthier are paying attention to these efforts. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif Hopefully they'll pay a bit more attention if you and I keep nagging them long enough. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
