For a sim, I find it odd, that the game broadcasts your damage to everyone.

Is there a reason for this?

Whose business besides that pilot is it to know you lost your controls?

Be nice to have this feature only display to that pilot, not to the entire server http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I thought there was a way to disable those messages?

yes there is but only if your the host i do believe

"Of all my accomplishments I may have achieved during the war, I am proudest of the fact that I never lost a wingman. It was my view that no kill was worth the life of a wingman. . . . Pilots in my unit who lost wingmen on this basis were prohibited from leading a [section]. They were made to fly as wingman, instead."
Erich 'Bubi' Hartmann "Karaya One"

it is a bit annoying but

it is a double edged sword

how many times have you seen "such and such's controls are usuable" thought you had a sitting duck in your sights....only to have them manouver around you as the "controls" they lost were their RUDDER controls!

and conversely quite a few times i've thought sh*t i've lost my controls, only to find it was my rudder and happily fly on to waste another few huns!!

anyway your'e probably right - it shouldn't be broadcast to the world.

On the one hand, I agree, it does detract a bit from the realism. On the other hand however, I appreciate seeing message because it means I can save some ammo at that point, as well as try to get myself to a safer position.
