Hello all,
I would like to ask, how to config my stick's (X-45) Hat View control to give me a "smoooth" view when I move it's directions, instead of the current situation, where it gives me a snap view, always advancing by 45 degrees to the direction of the click. If I move the mouse I see the view changing to the direction of the movement. This is exactly what I want to do with the Hat View.

Thank-you for the help.
Lior

Are you using Saitek or Dhauzimmer drivers?

Hi,
I am using the standard Saitek drivers currently.

Thanks.

Just press F9.

That's probably what you are searching for.

The views will pan (instead of snap) according to the direction you use in the hatswitch.

Cheers.

Thanks,
So the F9 key simply toggles between snap & pan views, is that what you are saying?
How can I center my view once I do not want to pan view anymore?

Thank-you.

You only have to press F9, nothing else.

After you get into the pan view mode, with each movement you make, when you release the hatswitch, it will automaticaly return to center.

F9 still locks you to 45 degree steps. I've removed Dhauzimmer's and installed the SST from Saitek coz it comes up more often, so now I can give you some advice.

If you want smooth panning on POV Hat 1, click on the little menu arrow at the right of the POV1 assignment box and select "Mouse". Save, load you profile and pan away. Once you've played with it, you may need to adjust the sensitivity slider to get a pan speed you like.

I set it up with a second speed in shifted mode so I get a fast pan without the pinky shift and a slow pan (for use with zoom view) with the pinky shift.

You may need to have installed the driver in advanced mode to do this, I skipped the "Typical user" mode.

You'll also need at least one button/key somewhere assigned to a snap view. A brief press/release of that button will cause your view to recenter (provided you're in snap mode, if it doesn't hit F9 once to change mode).
