Sound like a good name? I see that GOZR is hard at work setting up some more battles with some other countries. So I thought maybe we out to try and get some organization to this. I am going to list some ideas on rules and settings for you all to think about. Maybe between us all we can come up with a setup that everyone will enjoy.

Game Settings:

Sunday we flew with the settings of All switched on execept Speed Bar, Icons, and Minimap path. Icons were Friendly only at 2km and only showing the pilots name. They did not show any team color at, ie. they remained grey. My thoughs on these settings: I personally like them like this.

Map/mission:
Sunday we just flew a straight up dogfight battle. One base per side. Each base was protected by AAA. Was there enough AAA or do you think we need more per base? Should we just leave it like this? Or would you rather have some objectives for the maps? Since the servers are scripted we have all kinds of possiblities. If you want to do objectives, do we setup so one side is attacking an objective and the other side protects? If we are going to do objectives, I think we should stick with one attackign and one protecting to keep some structure and organization to the battle.

Deathkick:
Sunday we flew with a deathkick set at 2 with a ban of 5 minutes. I think this really brought alot of fun and excitement into the battle. Although I got the boot and had to sit out i thought it was really fun, made you work really hard not to get killed http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif . It seems we are getting alot more interest in other pilots wanting to fly in these battles, so i came up with this possible solution. Keep the deaths the same at 2, but increase the ban time to say 10/15 minutes. How i am thinking this might work as follows. Lets say we have 20 pilots that want to fly. Well only 15 can go at one time. So we find some way to select which 15 players start out. The other 5 can be on comms as backups. If/when someone gets banned for dying 2 times, then the next person in line then joins the server. The person that was just kicked goes to the end of the backup line. This would be kind of like re-enforcements maybe? And it would give us the chance to cycle more players though the battle. We might consider also dropping the deathkick to 1? I think this personally would be best. If we do this, do we restrict the nubmer of re-enforcements that each team is allowed to have? You thoughts on this one thing in particular would be great.

Plane/Pilot count:
Sunday we flew with a 30 plane / 30 pilot objective. To make it more interesting , i think setting the plane count higher then the pilot count is needed. If you think we should do this, what counts do you suggest?

This is all I can think of right off. The more input we get from everyone the better. I really had a great time Sunday and would like to see this turn into something. Don't know exactly what, but something http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. If other countries are interested in doing this, we could make it like a Bi-weekly thing or as often as you all think. Hope to see you all posting some thoughts http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

PS. Anyone got the track from yesterday hosted anywhere yet? If not, please, contact me and i will get it setup.

Sounds good to me! Any chance of it happening on other days than Sunday? Saturday or Friday would include me. Sunday is out of the question though unless it is way early Sunday before 7am CST

TOAD,

That is one thing i forgot to put out for discussion as well. What days are best. Personally , i dont have a real life persay. I am married with a 5 month old baby. My basic week is work mon-fri and then sit at home all weekend because we cant get out of the house with the baby http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. So what days are good for you all?

deathkick sounds awesome

but why have such a long ban time ?

that can make ppl loose interest if kicked out quick after coming back in & having another long wait

having it happen after being shot down the second time also sounds better than after everytime your shot down ...... gives a chance at redemption

seriously being out for 5 mins sounds plenty long enough

id love to have a chance at such a DF room ..... have talked about this kind of DF server a lot of times b4 with WUAF & others

youll be at UBI or HL ?

Plane/Pilot count @ 30

i dont know if you have flowen on many server with this kind of script enabled B4 or not but 30 is a low number

it gets reached pretty quick

3 good pilots working together can end a map pretty quick ith that low count enabled

double 30 as a minimum

We already flew a battle with a French team on sunday. And it took well over an hour to get 30 planes and pilots down. Because the deathkick was there , pilots are more apt to return to base when they take a few rounds.

As for flying on servers that are scripted. Thats all i do bud. I admin the War Clouds servers. I know my way around the FBDaemon. We are not talking bout you run of the mill dogfight server. These are challenges between differnt countries. The USA vs France we flew sunday was a good time. And the 5 min deathkick worked very well. I am just thinking we might wanna take it to the next level. You get killed you are out, just like a real battle. Makes you more cautious. YOu wont do stupid things and risk your life or your plane.

Not sure you are getting what we did here. There were 15 pilots from France and 12 of us from the USA. It was a 1 round match/battle or whatever you want to call it. This is more of a competion. This is not something that will be setup on a server and be runnign 24/7.

ok i can understand how 30 planes can take longer with you being booted if you get killed

the Dogfighting would be a lot less furious

less of the rushing in

AND ID LOVE TO GET THE CHANCE TO PARTICIPATE

i have had discussions about being in such a DF room & what it would be like many times

I totaly agree with Sparx
man i though three time before attacking on those setting the B Z planes are in power.
I've see nmyself chasing the enemy plane with my small guns and it take a lots of work.
The Fw's ,P51 and P 47 totaly shine on those condition, it's a whole different game..
man i loved it.. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The comms and all that was "WAR"
You die twice your out , then you listen what your team mates do on radio like old times http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
