I am currently playing the IL2 campaign from the start. It gets very tough with the massive majority of fighters outnumbering you and your measly escort.

So I am currently at the Crimean conflict.

As usual theres a lot of fighters taking off to guard the objective.

This time However, the enemy fighters started very close, just north of me.

So, I decided to make a little visit before heading to the objective. I was armed with 4 RS-132 and 4 50kg bombs.

Check out my little escapades, this avi-files are encoded with divx5.0.1, just download and watch.

The whole shebang:
http://elj.dyndns.dk/il2/Supervulching-g1ok.avi

Two shots of one fighter trying to take off:
http://elj.dyndns.dk/il2/me-109-2-try%20to%20take%20off-a1.avi
http://elj.dyndns.dk/il2/me-109-2-try%20to%20take%20off-b1.avi
(yup, The AI should be more afraid /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif )

Heres another fighter, figting to get off:
http://elj.dyndns.dk/il2/me-109-x-desperately%20tries%20to%20take%20off1.avi

The last guy taking off:
http://elj.dyndns.dk/il2/Thelastbf10takesoff1.avi

Me:
http://elj.dyndns.dk/il2/IL2-Vulchinga1.avi

Those who got of, followed us back over our own base.
Bf-110 and flak doesnt mix well.

After this I flew with my wingmates alone and unharassed and easily completed the objective with no air opposition.

I have also tried setting up flight with 16 il2s s 16 bf110 in the quick mission builder, check out this one to:

Lets get one thing clear.

It is NOT vulching when you're flying an IL2, Stuka or any other ground attack AC.

I think we need to take this whole vulching thing to ORR. One group can demand the game be changed so vulching is no longer possible. Claiming the developer is biased (because vulching heavily favors the vulcher rather than the vulchee) is encouraged. So are comments that the developer is unresponsive to his customers and doesn't understand capitalism.

The other side can demand that vulching remain in the game, and call the anti-vulchers "whiners."

And a good time will be had by all...

I fully agree! However, anyone who pilots a fighter and blasts me when I'm still on the ground is IMO not man (or woman) enough to face me in the air! Simple as that.

So, should I paint my genitals on the bottom of my aircraft? Would that remove all doubt about masculinity and FINALLY put this silly argument to rest?

I really wish anti-vulchers would listen to themselves.

This is the last vulch-related thread I post in unless specifically asked for an opinion.

Either you missunderstood what I wrote or, I interepreted your reply wrong! So here goes! I wasn't trying to be sexistic, I was going for quite the contrary! The (woman) was added because there are female users of FB. Why shouldn't they be mentioned?

And yes, shoot me on the ground and lose my respect. This vulching thing is like smokers and non smokers. Everyone knows smoking is a stupid thing, but still some people smoke, don't they? And smokers can't understand why non smokers doesn't like the smoke in their faces!

Ok, lets take a different approach to this...

I dont care if you respect me or not. Understand? The whole point of my response is to induce a bit of perspective: no matter what your argument, pro-vulchers will always have an opposite response.

You are trying to make some moral point about a video game. Only 'real men' take your view point. Ok, fine. To counter, I'll take the amoral road and bring my genitals into the conversation, because to be honest about it, I think your point of view is as rediculous as an intellectual discussion about my equipment. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Please understand that my response does not indicate any personal opinion of you. Being somewhat optimistic, I assume you are as good a person as anyone else. I just don't subscribe to anti-vulch point of view and never will. To me, the whole idea of being 'honorable' or 'respectable' in a video game that simulates killing is just silly. Antivulchers are an oxymoron.

well, One way to toally eliminate the risk for vulching is to always start in the air. No vulching possible then.
(although one would still have to land)

Furthermore i think that no matter what the serverrules are they should always be respected.

Kick lamers who doesnt respect them.

Sometimes its ok, sometimes it not ok to vulch. The sad thing is that there is always people without power who have to destroy for others because that is the only way for them to feel they have somekind of power.

I've played on counterstrike a lot. And seen this alot.

Ok, I'll show my human side. Being vulched over and over again can irritate me cause all I want is to get airborn and join the airbattle, sure I can vulch as much as anyone else but I have chosen not to! And I'm sorry for my somewhat "overmodelled" moral point. My lame excuse is that I made a comparison to smokers which tick me off alot, and I got too worked up emotional wise. I appologize. My second excuse is that I've been working night for the past six weeks and my brain isn't fully functional!/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif So normaly I just stay out of these kind of discussions!
So, go ahead and vulch all you want, but don't expect me to like it!/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif That's all I have to say!

the original post was about using pre-emptive ground attack against enemy fighters OFFLINE in a campaign mission which otherwise would have been nearly impossible .. not ONlINE

Too much vulching is a consequence of too little flack. I think vulching should be allowed but a single AC making pass after pass can be controlled w/o making any stupid rules. On maps I create you will find enough AAA so that a lone AC has a good chance of making one pass w/o damage but a slim chance of making more than three.

Also look what SJ said: vulchers make excellent targets!

One of the main reasons why I like to be vulched is because that means the enemy is near my base and I wont have to fly all the way across the map to get some freakin' action. That and it's so beautiful to see the debris flying up all around the plane. (Come on, all you have to do is hit refly and everything is ok again)

those who want to have dogfights are having their time wasted by others who want to have kills ... asking not to be vulched isnt a question about FBs realism cause its a flippin video game for crying out loud ... its about having your time wasted by some guy who wants a ego stroke

In a scripted DF or a coop, vulching is strafing and becomes a vital part of the mission. If you can catch a guy taking off, more power to you, but that's doesn't happen often and it's only minor when it comes to the overall mission.

Vulching is common on any war.
Even on the so called gentlemen's war - ww1, ppl vulch enemies as soon as they tried to land.
In a game where no danger exists, whats the pbl with vulching, starfing or whatever.
Wanna avoid vulching, start the game on air.
