The Poles mainly flew their trusty P.11 monoplane. Unfortunately it was ill equiped and underpowered to deal with the 109's. They were very manoevrable though but lacked firepower. The Slovaks on the otherhand had ill equiped biplanes. Cant think what types though. Hope this helps.

The Poles also had the PZL P.23 Karas and the PZL P.37 Los.

It should be noted that ~ 1/4 of the LW's 109s were the D model on 1.9.39.

The Poles flew the P11 !

You know, I'm not Polish myself, but I think the Poles were some of the bravest combatants of the war. They faced terrible odds against Panzers and 109's, but still they attacked...

Poland has always been in that vulnerable position of being the guy in the middle. They had enemies on both sides.

Interestingly, Germany was also a 'guy in the middle.'

I wonder how much this makes a nation more war-like, in the sense that you always have to be on your guard against one front or the other...? I suppose it would also depend on how hostile or perhaps even just 'different' your neighbors are... hmmmm..
