Simple question that i dont know the answer to.

Does putting your ps4 in the DMZ of your modem/router open all ports or do you still need to port forward stuff as well?

Thanks for the info anyone.

You still need to forward your ports. Even more, DMZing is something you should do after you forward your ports and that failed.

Essentially, yes. DMZ routes any incoming traffic to the DMZ IP, bypassing port restrictions, so you don't need to forward the ports as well.
Though whether you do one or the other, you should get the same effect. DMZ is just a lot less work.

Hello! We typically recommend that you first to to forward your ports and then place your PS4 into the DMZ as a next step if port forwarding wasn't enough.

We also just released a post (https://forhonor.ubisoft.com/game/en-US/news-community/152-286690-16/for-honor-matchmaking-experience-more-information-about-nat) going more in depth about NAT and matchmaking - you might find it insightful and helpful as you improve your NAT type!
