View Full Version : Nice patch, but biggest bug ( to me ) still there.

Overall I'm satisfied about the patch but the biggest reason I looked forward to FB in the first place was to fly
Me-262 campaigns ( offline ). While the majority of the
bugs were fixed in the 262, the one that maddens me the most is not fixed. That's the AI bug where if an AI pilot has not started both engines due to one being unstartable
for some reason, he still attempts to take off anyway.
He will yaw off the runway due to assymetrical thrust, then continue his take off roll and end up going until he hits something, runs into water or his undercarriage breaks on rough ground. I've seen them go for many miles before dying!! I won't fly a campaign in a 262 until this bug is fixed. In real life, if one engine on a 262 did not start, they'd attempt restart, if that failed, they'd simply roll it off the runway and work on it. One thing that did happen
sometimes was an engine fire on the takeoff roll or even during start up. If they are trying to simulate the high loss rate of 262's still on the ground, they should change
the stupid "one engine take off" attempt to a burning engine instead. They could have the AI attempt to bail onto the ground so at least your flight wouldn't lose a valued pilot. Then after the wreckage disappeared, the planes behind could take off. At least that would be more historic than what is happening now. It's beyond ******ed absurdity to believe any Me-262 jock would be dumb enough to try and take off without both engines lit and showing good engine readings on the intruments. Not whining really because at least everything else is great that I've experienced and I can fly other planes until this gets fixed. I will say that in other areas, everything was done well and few bugs remain other than this, in my opinion.

I do, but I mentally trade off the takeoff incidents against the complete lack of "spontaneous" failures while in flight. It balances out.

If all but myself have aborted takeoffs I just restart.
