what are your plans after you complete the Battle of Britain project. Are you going back to the Eastern Front or start a new project all together.I personally would like someone make Simulator dedicated to Mediterranean Theater of war. Thank you

A bit early to ask something like that dontcha' think? I mean, BoB is still a few years off and you're already asking what's next?
I don't even think Oleg knows yet.

A loooooong time ago, Oleg said that he signed contracts with UBI for the next Three(!) flight sims http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I dunno if that would include FB as well, I don't think so http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

It is a smidge early to speculate on post BoB shenanigans but if BoB's game engine is OK with fairly high altitude dynamics i'd like to see a Korea game or expansion. The planeset won't be huge and they won't have the added complication of computer/radar/missile systems to model.

the next logical step would be to basically do what I've been 'harping' on about for a few months on this here forum ie. a western europe sim based on this here game engine. I mean, hell everyone seems to want the P-51D, P-38, B-17, B-25, Tempest, Lancaster, etc which were all ETO aircraft! I still say, it would definitely be much better to move into the ETO after BOB. Basically we'll then cover off almost the WHOLE ETO (minus the Med ofcourse).

I too would love to see a Korean sim, but mainly I'd love them to go the other way and give us an FB quality WWI sim.

At some point (maybe number 3 in that signed contract list) I'd like to see him go back to Western Europe and produce the definitive WTO sim encompassing as much of that conflict as possible and concievable in a sim. That'd be fantastic...but Pacifc and the Med would also be exciting areas to visit although I rather dont like the looks of dust filter Spitfires (but a Spitfire is still a Spitfire http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif).

In order, I would like to see:

(1) A 1931-45 Pacific Theatre sim with individual allied/axis campaigns for (a) the Sino-Japanese War, (b) Midway, (c) Coral Sea, (d) the Solomons, (e) WW2 China/Burma, and the (f) Bombing campaign of Japan - yes with the atomic bomb in the mix of available B-29 bomb loads.

(2) World War 1 - with zeppelins

(3) The Spanish Civil War and WW2 Med

(4) An well-thought out alternate history sim featuring a hypothetical world war in the late 1920's-early 30's and or a WW2 extending into the late '40's with all the luft 46 type stuff (fat chance for this with all the ultra realism freaks who play IL2, but you asked!)

again pacific theater. at some point won't the
euro theater have been done to death?. in keeping
with the forgotten battles theme, there could be
the defense of austialia,CBI theater, ect. there
must have been plenty of action involving p-38
and p47. they would'nt have to mess with modeling
carriers. i'd like to see a different part of the
world through the FB lens.

after sturmovik then forgotten battles then BoB any WW2 theatre would be just going round in circles,ok as an add on though. to keep things moving korea would be logical.

The Med would be cool. North Africa, Sicily and Italy. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Pacific too...Hellcats and Corsiars from carriers...aaahhh...

And a full-blown ETO wouldn't hurt either, I'd like one big map instead of the "small windows" in IL-2. (Lot's of work though, heavy on performance)

This has been done before, many many times, but I don't think it's going in circles. The revolving trends in sims have always gone back to this to do it "harder, better, faster, stronger". (Anyone know that tune?)

Oleg is the man. He will do everything and anything until he retires. He will dogfight wheelchairs and the other seniors will whine about damage models.

01-01-2004, 12:54 PM
I'd like to see a Korean Sim, mainly because it hasn't been done before. Afterall, be it Pacific or Med a lot of the planes are already in FB and will also make an appearance in BoB.

Pacific Theatre / Med ... anywhere with tropical colors [glances at slushy snow out window].

Seriously, I think a beef rancher sim would be great. Canadians dropping mad cows on Americans / Americans retaliating with C-130s full of ...... better stop now.

Have a great 2004 everybody http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
