It may not be possible for larger bombers, but is there anyway we could have AI fighters remain after they've landed?...I know you've said in the past it's to do with frame rates, but with newer V cards and utilities like Lowengrins DCG it's possible to tailor your flights to acceptable size...the importance of opportune and secondary targets after mission objectives have been met adds so much...it is missed since IL2 Sturmovik. Could it be a toggled option for those PC's that can handle it? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

They did this because the large planes collided during taxi--the big four engine types.

If they let the small planes -- twin engine and smaller -- stay then there will be no collision.

ok I'll take the opportunity to mention something that bothers me:

Sometimes when you fly over ennemy airfields, the game generates a radom scramble of 2 ennemy fighters (always 2, I wish it was 8 planes sometimes http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif) if you atttack the planes on the ground while they are waiting to take off, you mus ABSOLUTELY make the ennemy plane EXPLODES if you wanna get credited for the kill, else, if you just, for example, cut off one of its wing, the plane will disappear eventually without you getting the kill

Just for the record

My mistake...had thought it was FPS issue! Many times I've returned from missions to pass over enemy airfields with flights in landing pattern, always a good opportunity to deal a blow to the enemy. But not when half the flight makes it to the ground and vanishes! The knife cuts both ways! I've been forced to return to base (hit by flak) where I wait for all aircraft to complete missions and return...more than once I've had my flight jumped on approach...again, any that make it to the ground vanish...I still fly IL2 Sturmovik, there's a real since of satisfaction when returning home and taxing in too park with your flight...great emersion http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Bump!!!

I think immersion would be GREATLY enhanced with better taxiing routines and things happening on the ground, including taxiing to the runway for takeoff and stuff. Then you wouldnt just get the airborne bit...
