BOB = Battle of Britain

Oleg's successor to IL2, IL2:FB and IL2:FB AEP. It's due out in mid-2005.

Not to be confused with Extreme_One's excellent "Battle Over Britain" which is a static campaign for FB

And Battle of Britain should not be confused with the general air war over Europe ranging from 1939 to 1945.

Battle of Britain is essentially a 3 or 4 month period in 1940 from June to September which is generally regarded as The Battle of Britain. Although apparently the actual meaning of the battle specifically focuses on a short period of weeks in September. Not sure on the details...

So essentially the Spitfire and Hurricane Mark I's are going to be up against Bf 109E (variety of types), early Donier bombers, the infamous Heinkel He-111, and the Stuka (which was suspended from duty midway through this period in this particular theater).

I also heard that Oleg probably plans to move BoB into 1941 or early 1942 by adding the early FW190's and probably the Spitfire II/V, the Hurricane II, and who knows...if he's going to introduce the FW190 he'd better introduce the Typhoon IA. That'd be great http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The "Battle of Britian" took place from July 1940 to the end of October 1940.
Try checking out this link for starters:

It gives a chronilogical history of the evnets that led up to the air war through it's conclusion. Although somewhat brief it will get you started.

Hope this helps.
