When you look at the sides of the German SC500 Bombs, whats that name thats painted on the side of them? It looks like "Marie" or something. My question is just...what does it mean and why is it there...?

Thanks in advance...this has been bugging me http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

Can't say as for the bombs, but the 190's seat back message appears to be a warning, I'd guess it's for emergency canopy release.

yeah, it's got something to do with "dont touch this switch unless your going to arm the canopy ejecting rocket things" or something along those lines...I believe the 190's used charges to blow the canopy off in the case of a bail out, could be wrong though.

As far as the bombs, one says something like "Der Sicke Otto" LOL...I think it's just what some random pilots would paint on their bombs before using them

'Der Dicke Otto':

Literal translation is 'The fat Otto': ie, 'Big Otto'. Just meant to be the comments that used to be put on bombs by armourers I suspect Marie is meant to be a girlfriend (or mother in law?? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif). It was done on all sides: you get some in russian (cyrillic script) under the TB-3, and there's one of my favourites that sometimes appears under the TB-3 - '**** happens' - love that...

Sorry -had to go into the game for the canopy..

Can't read the smaller text, but the first bit appears to be 'Warning - jettison canopy before bailing out'. Presumably not implying that German pilots were stupid enough to jump through a canopy ( http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif), but that simply sliding it back was not safe enough.
