Hello, pls dont lock me/this out i am driving myself crazy with this slow a*s machine

Ok i'm running Win 2K and when i hit CTRL + ALT + DELETE and open up task manager then look at the current processes takeing place, i have a VERY long list, even with everything turned off, (ie mc affee anti virus and etc)

My question is what NEEDS to be running in the Processes box in windows, maybe i'll get a good frame rate on FB in this machine if i stop some processes.

which processes do i need running and which can i close down or stop.

basically they are all the backround stuff running windows (win98 never showed them or had some of them )

go to control pannel.. admin tools .. then click services scroll down and that is all that crap in task manager , you can disable quite a bit but really only messager ( yes the dreaded messager )and indexing need to be disabled , other stuff will give a slight boost but indexing gives the most and as for messager its the first thing i do when i install w2k.. kill messager...

if you want to see a full list of stuff you can disable there is one for win XP most of its the same you could use that just do a search for it like XP tweaks or summit.
