Has a list of the bases, regions, maps and aircraft that will be in PF been released yet?

Am very keen to see to what extent the South Pacific / New Guinea / Australia region feature, as well as ........

What aircraft flown by Australia and New Zealand will be included?

There is no full list of either aircraft or regions. In fact there has been little concrete information from the developers since the initial announcement. The only new information we have had is the occasional clue gleaned from the weekly updates.
I don't know why but it seems that the developers want us kept in the dark for as long as possible. Most of us have been waiting with baited breath for a PROVISIONAL aircraft list from the time of E3 but I am getting the feeling that the first time we will get the full picture will be when we install the game on our hard disks.
If they actually released a bit more information then it would stop the speculative lists which are always promptly removed from the forum. I am beginning to wonder if all the whining and vituperation directed at Maddox games has strained relations between us (the consumers)and them (the developers)to the point where they dislike us and have no respect for us. If they have no respect for us then they wont want us to know anything.

I think the reason is not that they disrespect us.

They've got a lot of new features to make. Some are quite difficult.
They can have a few reasons not to publish a list.
First: When they do, there will be a lot of whining about features, maps and aircraft not included.
Meanwhile both Luthier and Oleg are trying as hard as possible to add extra features, like the moving decks for example. The first release will also have more maps than initially planned.

As far as I know Oleg he IS listening, keeps everything in mind but promises nothing.
I know of features that were requested, which Oleg said were technically too difficult to do. Still many of them were included in a later update or add-on.

Just face it. The bigger your request (adding maps for example) the less likely it's gonna be added in the first release. Smaller/simpler requests might make it (if not allready planned).

So, like allways, they are following the boards and pickup the requests made. Then they decided if they can make things while not delaying the project (too much).

I think that as a result of that they probably cannot give a final list of features themselves.
And in that case I would also wouldn't give a list, so there won't be any whining about features that might be included anyway.
The release is still some 2 or 3 months away, so a lot might change. LEt just the updates surprise us. What they show allready is in the game. Let's just see what they are able to add.

I agree with most of what you say serval. There is a lot that they are trying to add in a relatively short period, and I think they are feeling the heat slightly (notice Oleg's remarks about not adding certain aircraft into FB because of the tight deadline with PF release).

But, a big issue with not giving out details of certain important things like what objects and aircraft are being modelled is not good simpl;y from the point of view of the modellers.

There are a lot of modellers who are trying to either finish projects for FB (still no cut off date for these a/c!!), or are half way through an aircraft for FB which should probably be in PF, but Luthier, and anyone else involved with the project is nowhere to be found, and they are not responding to emails. So what are these modellers to do?? Simply continue to work away and finish all these great a/c for the sim, only to have them not included for this or that reason, or to find that someone else did it already, but noone said anything coz noone released the details of the models being worked on, and so on!!

Just a teeny tiny bit of info like what aircraft are being worked on RIGHT NOW, and what ships are being worked on RIGHT NOW, would really really be helpful, then we can all help with reference material, or offer assistance with the modelling, or whatever. This doesn't have to be info on whether these models will actually make it to the game, but which are planned to make it.

I think that's all that I really would like to see.

Here was an early thread : http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?q=Y&a=tpc&s=400102&f=26310365&m=166106423&p=1 .

Luthier has some replies on it about what maps might be included. Caveat: don't take it as gospel though. This was 2-3 months back, things might have changed.

"If they actually released a bit more information then it would stop the speculative lists which are always promptly removed from the forum."

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/34.gif Watch as I mock your hopeful optimism!

There have been something like four threads on plane lists today alone. NOTHING will ever stop the speculation. Even if the final list was carved on tablets, delivered by Moses from Mt. Sinai, photographed, and put into a big fat FAQ link with bright red blinking text, "HERE IS WHAT WILL BE IN PF... SIGNED, GOD" people would still post and ask.

The game is still in work right now, it's hard to say what will be on the CD. But nobody will be left out on purpose... There are always reasons. And I'm not saying I know of who or what is out or in.

"I am beginning to wonder if all the whining and vituperation directed at Maddox games has strained relations between us (the consumers)and them (the developers)to the point where they dislike us and have no respect for us. If they have no respect for us then they wont want us to know anything."

Well... Notice that the developers don't hang around much anymore? They're busy, for starters, and when you're busy you can either work to get stuff done or you can hang around and get complained at. At the moment, I really should be doing the former. :P

Having had a small inside look at the process, I can't believe some of the far-out conspiracist BS that gets posted everywhere. I mean, I thought it was ridiculous before, but the armchair QB'ing, taunts, "threats" etc. that goes on is incredibly far off the mark. Even people on the "inside" don't always know what's going on, so how is some kid on a forum supposed to know that it's all a big Conspiracy to Destroy Fun Gameplay?

If something is in the game that you don't like, remember, you angry folks: It's because it was put in there to piss off you, personally. We're in the business of Customer Dissatisfaction. Sell games? Pah! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Heads up, some of what I just said was sarcastic...
