I was reading a chapter in my book called "The Few." It is a book all about the Battle of Britain. The chapter I was reading was about a Polish pilot, and part of it said that he was the pilot with the most crash landings and returning of damaged planes in his squadron. I was thinking, in BoB, if we go on a mission in the Dynamic Campaign (that I hope will be developed well) and say we encounter enemies and then get damage to our plane but make it back, I was wondering if that damage could possibly stay on our plane. I don't mean that we would have to take off again with the same hole in our plane, but rather, once you land, your ground crew attempts to repair it, but doesn't exactly bring the plane back to new, and therefore you get a slight change in performance. I know this might be very complex to model, but imagine how awesome it would be, to know that every plane is slightly different rather than the same in the campaign. Anyway, just popped in my head, oh and there better be Czech and Polish squadrons as well!

Wasn't Oleg saying he wanted to do that?

I'll be tempted to hit refly button if I get my plane damaged to redo the mission. I hope they'll disable "refly" in that case http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I don't remember Oleg saying anything about this feature, but it sure as hell would be a great one if implemented. Yay1, that is a good point, I would assume the refly button could be made "unavailable" if you complete the mission no matter what damage you attain, but if you get killed, then the refly button will become available. I think the refly button should only be available for two reasons, one you are killed, or two you crash land in enemy territory and are captured. Any other outcome, like, your plane is damaged and you limp to base, you get shot down and bail out over friendly territory, or you crash land in friendly territory. That way proper repairs can be done to your aircraft if its not totally written off, or if you completely destroy it you can be issued another plane with a random condition (i.e. not brand new). However, maybe the "new" plane could come from a lower ranked pilot in the sqaudron, and any damage he has attained throughout his career, will be on that plane that you recieve. Oh so many possibilities http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

that would be great; nice idea.

I'd like to see DM that modelled impact of each round as well, though I have no idea whether that is feasible or intended.

Another idea I have for BoB, which really is not an original idea, but one I would like to see implemented nonetheless is individual squad markings. If this is to be an historic sim, then seeing the accurate Letters, and Colors on the planes of each different squadron would be great. See here http://www.deltaweb.co.uk/edrawings/spitfire.htm
