What OS are you using, Bob? You can make a startup disk for the older versions of Windows, and start it up with CD-ROM support, then run setup off the CD. Windows XP comes on a bootable CD, so just enable boot from the CD in your BIOS and make sure the CD is higher in the boot cycle than the hard drive.

Age and treachery will defeat youth and skill every time.

you should have a set of cd's that are specific to your system to reformat your computer

but you should be able to find the stuff you need on the internet

If you wish to reformat your disk.
1. You need the OS disk be it XP, 98.
2. Reboot your system, hit delete key so that it will bring up your bios screen.
3. Tell it to boot from your cd-rom.
4. Reboot with the OS disk in your cd-rom.
5. It will ask if you wish to boot from HD or CD.
It is at or about this time you can reformat your system.
I did this to my daughters when she wanted to get rid of M2000 PRO and get XP.
Worked like a charm.
