View Full Version : Anyone played I Am Alive? (Part of the Ubi-verse?)

I checked the I Am Alive forum and found it empty...

only 3x threads all about glitches. Would really like to hear/ read people's point of view of the game excluding the bugs

After 4 years I finally finished it…

A nice game that sadly won't have a sequel. Anything could had happened that would lead to him abandoning all he's gears for someone to find it rather than presume the worst.

My favourite part of the game is the climbing puzzles. Especially where u have multiple ways to get to the same spot.

Dunno what'll happen if Assassin's Creed is limited by stamina climbing, lol

If the theory of all Ubisoft games are in the same world (FarCry - Assassin's Creed - Watchdogs)
I haven't played FarCry so I can't add that to my timeline playthrough.

I Am Alive seems to take place around 2007 according to the calender in his apartment, long before Desmond's tale in 2012. At first I hope this isolated town was the result of the accident of the piece of Eden Abstergo had but I later learn the location is of different name...

So this is another incident by unknown cause, maybe someone mess with a precursor artifact there and caused the earthquake like in Rogue. :D

I'm still looking for the side mission in Watch Dogs where Aiden meets Abstergo Entertainment's CEO...

Speed Run Paths
Can compare which is faster or more effective. Like in the mall. There's two ways up, one with spending resources and the other not at all and able to get more stuff.

<span style="font-family: Calibri">

The Mall: Reach the telescope
1:36 Shimmey under the billboard (4secs to grab water)
1:16 Climb up using a Piton (16-20 secs faster)

1st Jerrcan Can
0:17 Safe path
0:17 Drop grab

Return to tram
0:36 Move Forward
0:39 Look Back

Reach the grapple
00:30 Pipes
00:38 Monkey Bars (Bullet bonus)

Get to the top
00:49 ???

Slide or Drop
00:43 Dropping window to window
00:27 Sliding down a pipe

Get out of skyscrapper
01:21 Elavator
01:10 Ladder

01:01 Gun em Down
00:59 Round track

Here's a video of locations with different paths. I watched someone do a speedrun and found some paths he took isn't the shortest but as a whole the fastest i can find on YouTube mainly because he kills and used some glitches.
I'm not going to compete with that run, don't have much time to spend on it but I'll make my own casual speedrun with the survival difficulty to get the remaining achievements.

I tried making one without glitches and still conserve ammo. Doing so made me realise there are stealth elements in it too. Sneak up and takedown from behind, kill someone as bait, etc.

Hold em up is nice too. Different reaction, surrender or call our bluff.
Barely used the shotgun but when I did, it was lucky they we're all close together. Didn't realise there was a spread shot.

Yeah, I liked this! I haven't played it since it.came out, but it was a nice experience for the price in its day. I think this was Ubi's first stab at a high production value, low-price game, and I hoped to see more like this. Instead, they gave us games that were much better: Blood Dragon, Call of Juarez - Gunslinger, and others that took a more indie style (Child of Light, Valiant Hearts, the Chronicles series).

I remember enjoying this one. Maybe I should go back and give it another try. The ability to threaten an enemy with a gun that they didn't know was empty was a great idea.

Yeah, other games like the Battlefield cop game, when u shine the badge they surrender instantly. Random effect is much better. :)

I can imagine Sam Fisher in this kind of game and take them all out HtH without a gun. :)

I didn't play this game, but watched it on YouTube, it certainly has some interesting ideas mechanically speaking, the stamina bar, threatening people with an empty gun...but they weren't executed very smoothly, the development was quite troubled IIRC so it was likely not able to get the refinement it needed. I did really love the atmosphere though, I was younger so it was quite hard-hitting, the really harsh dystopian world. Would have liked a follow-up, especially with the cliffhanger ending.

I played this game and I thought it was great!

I just wish they would have continued it. I heard they planned to release one or two more games for this to continue the main character's story, but it was just abandoned, I guess due to not making enough money? So basically the game's ending was VERY open ended.
