Try the Omega drivers at http://www.driverheaven.net/
while you are waiting. Use at your own risk-they are unsigned.

I haven't noticed that they look that much better but the Omega's are great drivers.

I use the latest 74a XP drivers and this is the result:

hm

then you are cpu limited (the game is also highly fsb and memory bus speed dependant).

I get about 27fps with perfect and a 2100+ @ 1.85 and a 9700pro (the system is highly tweaked and running bare minimum with xp pro)

cat 3.6s made it run a bit better but I use it only to take screens (perfect), I play with excellent.

Neither am I and I have a Radeon.

As for driver fixes, I read several posts with FX card users that have flashing textures and Nvidia investigated and said they will fix it in the next driver release.

I guess it's different for each user if they are waiting to have something fixed in the driver.

The 15 is a pause at track loading textures.....since the patch only offline I get a slight pause like in original IL2 about 5 secs after it starts. Only happens on track playback though so I'm not sure if it's due to a new texture load or bad reference point in the old track....ran it again to test those are the results....

Hunter,

Thanks for doing the test. I was blown away by your 3D scores. Your getting 21000 and i'm only getting 18000. I wanted to see if it transfered to game performance. I just ran the test again, because i've been doing a little tweaking cleaning up XP some more. this is my results with nothing overclocked.

That's why I said wait a few seconds before starting the test. Mine is settled to 45fps when i start. there are a couple of spots where the fps will dive to a low for just a split second. I don't pay alot of attention to the low figure. I never go that low when i'm flying, as i'm sure you don't either. The Black death track is kind of weird for fps. It does tax a system though.

Anybody who wants to try the test to compare. Use 1600 res and excellent settings in the game. Use fraps and start the test 5 seconds after the track starts. Run it for 2 minutes and stop the test. Don't use manual control in test. Just let it run by itself.

just tried the Omega drivers and wish I had'nt. Had lots of visual artifacts.

IMO, 3.4 drivers seem to be still the best for IL2 if you want to run perfect..

The 3.6s run it better than the 3.4s, I always believed that until the patch-but with the patch the 3.6s run better for me /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Rumor is that the 3.7's are only a few days away.

Of course thats just a rumor and a "few days" may indeed be weeks http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
