I could upgrade from my current GeF4 Ti4200 in a few weeks, maybe I'll try ATI, the price here are follows (in Canadian dollars)
9600XT $250
9700Pro $315
9800Pro $415

In these 3, which one could give me the most FPS/$ equation?
Thanks for your ideas

The ATI 9800 Pro will give you the best frame rates but the price is too high IMHO. If money is no object for you get it. As for getting a video card with the most FPS per dollar spent it's not to be found in the ATI lineup. It's a Geforce 4 5900SE 128meg go's for $181 on Newegg.com check this site out. (Mine even came with a FULL version of Call of Duty) It's clearly faster then the ATI 9600XT in all areas. It's just a tad slower then the ATI 9700. I think Nvidia has accepted that for now they can't beat the ATI 9800XT Pro so what they have done is drop the price of the Geforce 5900 series to mid range consumer prices. It will kill off sales of the 5700 ultra line but mid range consumer video cards is where the moneys at.

Thanks Depalmer, I'll check out the 5900's prices, maybe I'll stick to Nvidia then, if the price have dropped.

If it's the 9700 Pro not the straight 9700, then that's an exceptionally good card. Most reviews show it only 10 - 15% behind a super-duper 9800XT.

Have a look here: http://www6.tomshardware.com/graphic/20031229/index.html

Ya it's the 9700Pro, at $300 I find it a great card for the price, I'm still waiting for prices on GeF FX5900 thought, I'll have them tomorrow.
