I wonder if PSX is gonna a faster CPU or more sophisticated graphics processor, because I not going to spend to $1,000 on a solely multimedia console.

Actually, from reports so far, the PSX has more "new" features, such as the TV/satellite tuner, hard drive, Sony Memory Stick support, and the DVD burner, but the actual gaming components will be exactly the same as the existing PS2.

It's not a new console, it's a repackaged old console, with more multi-media bells and whistles.
