No, it's Yellow 10, and now resides at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. I've seen it twice now in person.

Beautiful plane.

I have already fallen in love with her a long time ago, so don´t get any funny ideas http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
But seriously, she is truly lovely, and the paint scheme might be ugly, but it is historical correct according to LEMB (Luftwaffe Experten Message Board) where images of her has been shown for the last 2 years or so.
Here is more about her: http://p069.ezboard.com/fluftwaffeexperten71774frm7

Wow, look how small the bar at the front of the cockpit is.

Muahahahaha [runs]

Seriously though, that's a pretty warbird.

Nice to see they fabricated a stock replacement for that nasty fiberglass ram air scoop they used to have on that plane. And with the new paint it's much better looking now! From what I've read, it's being restored to flyable condition, with the current owner having no intention of actually flying it.

It probably won´t happen, sadly. It´s too valueable. I think only 17 was built of this lady, and she is the sole remainder.

Jagdmailer... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif do you have access to modellers forum @ netwings? it´s some explaination there.
I drop you a few lines when I get home, maybe we can work something out?

There's quite a few people who get partway there building and flying in scale replicas.
190's from 1/2 to 3/4 scale are pretty popular. Not as fast or powerful by a longshot
but still able to handle more than a few G's.

Thank you for the great pics Jagdmailer, this plane has long been an unnatural and unhealthy obsession for me. I do wish someone would model this beauty.

Hi,

Is this the plane in the current issue of Flypast being rebuilt in the US?

If so, it's quite in interesting read what with it having the wrong wings (D9) etc.

IIRC, it might be up for sale...around the $4m mark.

Cheers,
Norris

This is the plane in this months Fly Past. If you want to know it's full history then you'll have to buy Jerry Crandells book "Yellow 10". Great little book almost exlusively about this D13. Thank god it was saved from the scrapheap. I thought they said the restoration work alone cost $6-7 Million. Dont'think you can put a value on this aircraft.

Just to confirm, it did have the wrong wing set (from a US museam D9) for about 50 years when it got switch by mistake.

However, they finally got the OK from the museum with the D9 (and the D13 wingset) to exchange the wings recently. Therefore, it does have it's original wing set back now.

Cheers
