I ordered it about two weeks ago . Ground tracking says it is due to arrive tomorrow (Mon.) .
Can anyone give me any advice/suggestions on setting it up ? Should I use the profiles at the Mudmovers site ?
Will I get airsick ? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Expect a learning curve to get eye-hand - gunsight- control right & after that just a wonderful time - almost real... Adjustments aren't complex- I got mine about 3 weeks ago & would not go back - See my General discussion threat posted about 2 or 3 weeks ago asking for advice on " tuning" the thing- I got veery good advice from old pros...enjoy!!

Sturmtrooper! - I'll try not to re-re-re-re-peat myself!

Expect: BLISS!

It's fantastic and you'll never want to go back.

For Lock-On you need to create a profile with lower values, because it will otherwise be too twitchy.

Edit points like these are good: 0, 0, 0, 5, 8, 10, 10, 10.

It's a low-value profile with a nice deadzone in the middle.

BTW, you need to set "trackIR-enhanced mode" only, because that's the one you're gonna use.

Trouble that can crop up, is that the "saving" process is not terribly intuitive.

Set the on-off button and the recenter button to the two "windows" buttons or other buttons that are not in use in Lock-On (not a lot!).

There' was another trackIR-thread in here that explained how to do the edit points. Find it, it's worth it. (Or read the manual!)

Hope this helps, let's hear your impressions!

Okay , one more question for all of you TIR users :
What do you guys use to mount the reflective dot on ?
I was thinking about using the mic boom on a headset . Is there something better ? I've seen the sunglasses with the ping pong ball thingy . I was just wondering what you guys are using .
Baseball caps ?
Welder's hat ?

I use my mic boom. Be aware if the boom is curved (as mine is) you will need to mount reflective dots around the curve, so when moving in the vertical you don't remove the reflectors from the line of sight of the tracking unit. I have a 5 dot cluster.

Enjoy!
