Whats with all this LOMAC Stuff?

Anything where you have to climb in through the window and set fire to its *** end to get it off the deck will never catch on.

Give me a prop and a big vibrating lump in front any time http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

That's the difference: do you want to PILOT an aircraft, or do you prefer to TOGGLE computerized buttons and watch little green thingies in a MFD screen? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I agree that air combat died with guided missiles, but I am going to fly it because it's what I plan to do for a job. Kinda sucks though, too bad the skill involved is minimal in comparison to USAAC and USN pilots of WW1 and WW2

Speed, it's all relative, the greatest speed sensation in flightsims is a head on attack in a gun fighter.

A head on attack between an Albatross and an SE5 is going to be quick enough for anyonehttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Speed won't sell Lomac to me.

WOW That is a good picture that captures the beauty I see when I look at a engine. I sure would love to stand close to that one as she fires up, just to listen and watch the flames belch from the exaust. First orange and then moving to a fine shade of blue /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
I have played the lomac demo and there is little sensation of speed in general. Push the throttle to the firewall and the only thing that happens is the sound drops out like a sound bug or something. Flying past a town can help give you a sensation of speed though. What I found most impressive was doing zoom climbs in outside view. In a word WOW! Even more satisfying than a high speed zoom climb in a P47! But I still get off on the shaky planes, stiff controls of IL2 even though Im going barely a quarter of the speed /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Done that in a Jag and bar a muffled pop you would not know you were doing it /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif there is no feeling, its like flying in a glider all u hear is the sound of the airflow as the engines are behind you and you are travelling away from the noise...

well first off you never see it for all the smoke it throws out on start up, /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif its like its running on diesel, as for the sound i might be able to record it on my mobile..... cell phone to you johnny foreigners /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif and as that runs on windows, upload it next time it flies /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
