View Full Version : Joystick input settings?

Just a simple question what are your joystick input settings for pitch, roll, and yaw? I want to find a good setting and I sometimes find that with the games default setting it is too difficult to make some minor adjustments. So post what you have.

One other thing I want is some information? What type of .50 caliber machine guns were used on American aircraft. They don't seem to be a standard M2. I will worship you if you can get me some pictures and possibly a link. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif

Tully,

Do you use the X45 rudder rocker? I am wondering if the yaw input you listed is for the rocker or for pedals? I am interested because I am just getting used to the X45 rocker and want to tweak it to the best possible settings. Thanks in advance!

X-45 and I use the rocker.

I've been using the following:

25 50 75 100 100 100 etc.
25 50 75 100 100 100 etc.
6 10 15 25 35 45 .... with the last input being 100 (not the deadband or filter)

I use the x-45 with rocker.

I find these settings are great for most planes, the 190s can be a little touchy though.

Using the X-45 as well - with the rocker for rudder. I have pretty much the same config, though I spread things a little more on the pitch axis (finer control in the mid range for gunnery).

Here is what I'm running.

This is what you have in config file when you have the X-45 and CH Pro USB pedal combination.
At least this is true for T_O_A_D's machine with Win XP Pro.

If yours is different then set one line at a time to all zeros. Save file then start game and find out which axis is now dead. Once you know which line affected what axis your on your way.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

So what took you so long to share hehehe been running close to those for a long while. I Posted these in febuary to my squad and only 2 people on this forum, So wich one told OLeg LOL I have fooled with tullys and addied his pitch and it loops faster. But it shudders the way I have it now it doesn't shudder. Still messing with several setting on my Yaw though.

My biggest problem is My aim, flying is good enough but I think I am finaly realizing what everyone has complained about an its centereing. I'm debating getting another stick and just using it for a button bay. I used to be alot more accurate in the original IL2 with my logitech but they never lasted.

Great into, mate. Can you confirm that these settings are for the HOTAS Cougar, and if so, how you input the settings? I can't see to do it in-game set-up and there doesn't seem to be an option to input them in that format in the Foxy HOTAS software.
Thanks
Mal

In your game folder there is a file called conf.ini
The information posted above is a cut & paste from that file.

Back yours up before making edits, the axes aren't always under the same designations and you may need to go back to your original settings.
