Yesterday there were a few instances (happened more than twice) in a server (i don't remember the name) where the plane i was chasing just suddenly disappeared. I don't know if it was the same person. But the server was being run i think by a squadron. First, i wanna say i'm not 100% sure that what I saw was a "refly" situation. I thought one couldn't refly unless one bails out first. I did not see anyone bail out. But the plane did disappear. I was looking at it the whole time and then the next instant it was gone.

Questions:
1) Is it technically possible to refly without bailing out?
2) Is is acceptable in this community to refly while being chased?

You can refly in mid air if airstarts are enabled.

I can't comment on whether it is acceptable to the community, I don't fly on airstart servers on a regular basis.

I don't fly on airstart servers either but if someone is hitting refly because they're being chased then that individual is lame and pathetic ....... be sure.

Yes well, I have seen it happen when a player feels he cannot shake an opponent.
Best to boot them from the server after recording Ip then ban the Ip.

Some servers have Stats which is excellent as you can see your own statistics; Air hits, kill ratio etc etc ect. The downside of this is that there are certain LOOSER individuals that feels that statistics is more imortant than ..let's say HAVING FUN, so when they feel that there is a chance that they might be downed, instead of taking the heat, they just disconnect and then connect again. By diong this they can keep their oh so good statistics that they have aqiured in a not so very fair way. Makes me sick.

Says quite much of the character of these individuals... don't feel the urge to get to know any cheaters...

Sorry if i seem grumpy, the week didn't start out well. Cya guys.

I managed to "refly" once while being chased (in a Il-2 "original" server) and am deeply ashamed of that.

It was a mistake, I just wanted to yell for help, and the chat is activated by the "^" key on my German keaboard, which is just below the "esc" key... So I hit the "esc", go out of the window, consternation, "esc" once more, and I am in the arming window, shame on me... The guy left before I was able to explain...

Im afraid orheim is right here.

Stathunters can sometimes go extreeme in their efforts. Also some very competitive players can get impulses in the heat of the moment.

But I doubt they have as much fun as I do. I dont like to get shot down all the time either and once or twice when I've been too tired and p*ssed I have quit in mid air.(= bad)

Then there is also other causes for mid air exits. I think they call them "pingspikes"= Ur ping goes up drastically for a few secs and u get kicked from the servers.(or is it lagspike?)
I have also a rather low memmory crappy system ( cant afford more = retired teacher )and sometimes get a spike in the moment I shoot at an enemy and get disconnected and sometimes in a furball.

Since they added more players on Greatergreen i get thes kind of disconnections.

Generally this is bad sportsmanship.

Reflying while being chased in a dogfight (where it`s possible) is unacceptable and stupid. Quitting out because you can`t lose your pursuer is the same. Once you take the challenge of flying on a server, you take thechallenge of being in a dogfight and should/must accept the out come gracefully, like a Gentleman.

I`ve come across some of these quitters and wish I had a virtual elastic-band to pull them right back in front of me and blow them up with extreme prejudice! OI! COME BACK HERE! BOOOM!

I had problems with the internet where I was disconnected in the middle of a battle, so it is possible even if not intentional. Although, I have heard of true loser intentionally disconnecting there internet cable to avoid being shot down. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif What's the point of the game is you can't lose? What if everyone did stuff like that? Some people just are so insecure with themselves that they'll do anything to improve there "status" with others.

Not to change the subject but it sure would be nice to be able to land at a base, refuel and rearm and get back into the fight. Instead of esc and refly.

I think it would be awesome to have ppl disappearing in my wake. It's like pilots in real life who bail out before they even get damaged. I wish I was so intimidating.

Yea, GT182, It'd be nice to refuel/rearm instead of just landing. You should have to taxi to a designated area, cut your engines and wait like 10 seconds or something, then taxi back to runway for takeoff. Perhaps in the future, BoB?, there will be some nifty extras on top of the beefed up graphics and sound. And I sure do hope the sound is a major upgrade!

Right ThirdCoastNickP, and even a key command for refuel/rearm would do the trick as long as you were in the fueling area.

People who do that are losers and know they cant beat you...so instead of letting you kill them they bail and refly...over and over
