View Full Version : Q for Russian Speaker... *please*

I'm doing a small artwork (DIN A4 sized) of the LaGG-3 series 4.

To make it look really cool and amaze all my friends, I'd like to have some Russian text to go with it. I've tried an online translator but it gives me different results than those I get from the pictures/drawing's I'm using...
Since a lot of effort has already been in this thing, I'd rather have it good if you know what I mean... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Perhaps someone can help me out?!

I'd like to put on this text:

LaGG-3 series 4
White 44, 44 IAP (or that spelled '44th IAP?)

Thanks in advance, I can't pay you for it but you'll have my eternal gratitude, and of course 25% of the profit if I manage to sell it, hehe http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif (wouldn't count on that, though http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)

Nobody? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

You can please mail it in Cyrillic if the board does not support it.

Maybe I should have named the topic "writer", hehe http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I could try, but I'm really not that good with spelling in Russian, and I have no idea how to translate all that terminology. (IAP etc...)

If no one else can help you I could give it a go.

am happy to help, but I have problems with typing Cyrillic script, but maybe nothing too problematic. Drop me a PT and will do what I can for you.

Have you tried going to a bookstore or library and looking in a Russian-English dictionary or translation book?

@ Bazzaah: check your PT http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

@ FinCowboy: thanks a lot! I could recognize something in the drawings and pictures I used to create the painting, but at least I'm quite sure of the LaGG-3 Series 4 part. It was spelled in different ways in my sources, but as you typed it it matches http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

@ CzechTexan: no, but since don't know anything about Russian I could (and would http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif) have screwed up. I did look up the words in an online translator, but since I don't know the grammar (is it common to say 'series 4' or '4th series' in Russian?) it's hard to get right...
