OK confession time there are still some things that that i havnt figured out about il2/fb:

Magnetos - i know roughly what they do and what they are ( AFAIK they keep the engine going) - what exactly is their purpose in FB and when are we supposed to use them?

He111 bombsight: how come i can operate the tb3 bomb sight but not the he111 ? - the tb3 has a line that moves when you adjust speed and altitude and where that line intersects the other line is where you bomb - i can do this with almost 100% accuracy - however i cant seem to see anything moving when you adjust the same on the he111 bombsight - it just doesn't seem to make any difference - even if i set the correct alt and speed the bombsight always seems to point directly down - ei when the crosshairs are on the target is when the plane is directly over the target - hence any bombs dropped way overshoot.- also what does bombsight automation do ?

edit: sudden flash of inspiration - do you set the speed and alt and THEN press automation to get the sight to adjust itself to the correct position?

can anyone give me any answers/tips please ?

thanks /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Magnetos? There was a good thread on that recently. Their purpose in FB is fairly obscure. They may be made more useful with the engine startup procedures mentioned in the patch notes, but for now you don't need them, although you can turn off the engine with them.
