OK, 1st off- I had some kind of PC problem unrelated to AEP, so I'll disregard the fact that I had to completely uninstall FB and then reinstall first. No program file in my start up menu has a path to it's executable. None at all. I reinstalled Fb and now FB/AEP is the only one with an exectuable path that the startup menu recognises. Everything works, though, I just have to start it from it's file location. I had to do a system restore about 2 months ago, I wonder if that's related? Anyway:

*Never noriced it before, but the P-47 D-27 has a graphical bug when loading out a centerline item: bomb, droptank. Nothing attaches the ordance, it just leviates there http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif. Oh well.
* The Gladiator sets a new standard in graphical quality
*It's hard to hit a 229, it's so slim http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif
*Biplane battles are great fun. Both the Gladiator and the Falco are a trip to fly. And they are so similar and so different at the same time, it's a great pairing, in my opinion.
*Hawk 75 is a tougher opponent than I'd imagined
*I see absolutely zero difference in my external views. I've always used the mouse for external, so maybe I'm missing something, but I tried very hard to understand the complaint that something has changed and I just don't see it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif
*There's so much to check out, I feel a bit lost by it all.
*I have been trying out the P-51D with K-14 gunsight. I probably like the N9 better, but for some reason I prefer the K-14 in fixed mode, somehow it seems like a better sight picture to me. I'm probably just really perferring the fact that I can see a bit of the nose with the K-14 and it's a nice little touch that makes me feel more like I'm flying a P-51 and less like I'm flying a desk when I can see that hint of yellow (I'm flying the Detroit Miss http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif )
* having said that, I don't know if targets are harder to hit with AEP. I read that some folks felt this was so. I seem to be getting strikes with about the same frequency with the fixed sight.
* Also seems to me that you can see strikes on your opponent more easily now, which has a nice bit of 'wow' factor when you see those yellow flashes along a target's tail. It happened before, as I recall, but it seems either more frecquent or more defined in AEP, to me.
*P-38 is a pretty plane. Very nicely done. Looking forward to skins for this one very much
*glitchy little bug used to happen every once in a while in FB when I use my mouse wheel for elevator trim. Seemed much worse in AEP. Mapped that to the small joystick on my X45 throttle. It's easier, but I need to get used to it. Still seems to randomly go a little off of adjustment- I stay at one speed and heading, and in a bout 10 seconds, often it pitches up or down drasticaly. With my trim set up this way I can counter it easily, but it is odd to me. Maybe trim has been tweaked a little in AEP?
* Was the Bf-109 E4 always this quick to overheat at 3,000 rpm? Under 10 seconds by my count http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif Did I just never notice?

Overall, the Gladiator alone was worth the 29 dollars US. I'n not kidding, it's that well done. To all involved: Congratulations on a superlative effort. This seems to me a standard by which all others will be judged. (Not an exaggeration) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif

I've only flown a couple of different variants of Focke-Wulf in AEP so far , so is it just me or are all the gunsights in the FW series now fixed ?

I've only flown an A8, but the recticle has either been moved or resized, if I remember correctly. Certainly seems easier to use.

Overheat seems to be to happen faster for many planes and not just because the radiator is no longer an auto function on luft birds...they also seem to take longer to cool down. No biggie, but there does seem to be a change. It might be that 3000rpm is too high for the 109, I don't fly them often so I can't really comment on that.

The P38...wow, thats a nicely done model (Salute Gib!) and the plane is a joy to fly. For me the Ta152 and the P38 sold me on the price of the game no question.

I think the strike flashes from the 50 cal's are greater than before which adds alot to the sensation of realism when shooting. Cannons make flashes now too which they didn't appear to in 1.22...interesting effect.

Accuracy seems improved to me, I'm the same old shooter but I seem to hit more often than I used to with all planes...not sure why others say it's less.

The external views have changed but thats not a big deal either...the default viewing distance is now tied to the zoom level of your view and gives 3 AC sizes by default now instead of 2. Wish they hadn't changed it but it's not a show stopper for me. Someone else mentioned a few settings that be changed to control the default external view size, I may plink around with that to get it to be larger like it used to be. Actually the change in size makes sense, it's just different than before and was unexpected, but nothing that ruins the game.

I'm quite happy with AEP...the physics change is interesting (takes some getting used to) but to me feels less aerobaticky than 1.22 did. Energy is more valuable now, it's harder to come by and appears on the surface to give you a bigger advantage/disadvantage than it used to depending your relative E state to the bandit. It just feels better imho, kind of cool.

Interesting points you raise Chuck and not one of them a whine http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Very nice <S!>

(Edit: FW gunsights reticles have been changed, they are larger than before. A programming error has been corrected, but there is no change to usable area, just the reticle is larger. The Ta152 gunsight is higher than in other FW's and is more like the 109 gunsight imho)
