The one thing generally lacking on the FB boards are regular progress reports. There was no word about the patch for a few months and then suddenly it was there. While development projects always have there ups and downs, would you be willing to make a point of checking in with your fans and giving them progress/lack of progress reports now and then after the release of PF?

I am not talking about release dates for patches/add-ons or anything like that, but rather something like "we are working on this particular problem, but it is taking more time than we expected". I think occasional posts like that will keep the whining and wondering down a lot as this game is develops. The LOMAC guys always post regular reports and I think that kind of thing is really appreciated by fans of a sim.

Thanks in advance........ http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

These kind of reports are a marketing / PR tool, and as such I can't make decisions on this on my own. I'm a member of a very large team of people working on this project, and I can't just be a rogue posting development reports here on my own.

I do agree though that such progress reports would be a great thing to have http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif It all has to be well coordinated though. All the information should be released in an intelligent coherent manner. There will very often be cases of us mostly having worked on not yet announced features, which would make that week's progress report somewhat difficult to write http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Anyway, all I'm trying to say is that the reason you don't see these reports is not just because I'm lazy and can't be bothered to update you guys http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I agree that Luthier has a nice presence on these boards and personally answers a lot of questions but my question was geared more towards the time when PF has been out for a few months, there are known technical issues, and a patch is being worked on.

Luthier,
I believe at this point that if you can keep the game fans abreast of the current situation you will, but I realize now its not as simple as just getting on the board and giving a report.

You've been spoiled. Try hanging around MS forums, and I bet you see a diffrence - for the worce. These are places where a patch is a bug fix lets the game work on duel opteron systems.

Just a counter of a few major headings with % done (which of course may go backwards as well as forwards) updated weekly would be more than enough.

Something like:
Maps X% done
Planes Y% done
Ships Z% done
Overall whatever%

Yeah, I find the info from development people is very forthcomming. As for MS forums. That's a waste. Once they put a sim on the street, they forget about it and leave it up to others to update it. Too much access to game files, and too many hacks to mess things up.

I think the carrier cables are enough to say it is http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Now if the pby can pick up pilots who bailed it would be very interesting for the scripted servers with planes/pilot limits and death kicks if they have rafts over enemy territory for a limited ammount of time.

Im also hoping theres a way to sink carrier/spawn points and making the homebase item be able to be destroyed by bombing all hangers or gridded sections of runways. eliminating all enemy carriers and land base spawns to win the map, some different game types online besides just dogfight and coop

I don't play any MS flight sims because they don't support their products. See the difference? You can't use the worst example of customer support as the base line to beat. A good company tries to do an excellent job, not simply a better job than their lousy competitor.

Luthier thought my request was reasonable so everybody can quit as*kissing now. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
