Hi all:

A couple months back I remember enjoying the ability of checking my rear view mirror in a couple of the planes. After a video card upgrade, driver update, and now a patch, there hasnt been a mirror for quite some time. Is there a way to get it back? Is it a settting somewhere? I can see the thing from an external view on the p47 and hurris but not from cockpit view.

-settings all max
-ati9500pro
-catalyst drivers 3.7
-no rv mirror

in the controls menu, there is a key to toggle mirrors. set it, and then hit it while playing. there are different modes but you will get a fps hit.

I looked high and low in the controls screen and didnt see anything that relates to the mirrors... can you specifically tell me what it says, take a ss of it, or just tell me the default button?

I do not get a bad fps hit unless I am using S3TC compression. Then it is so bad that I cannot use it. I rarely use it anyway. If I am able to see a plane in that mirror, it is too late. It is fun to look back at the terrain once in a while, though.

Nvm, I found it, way near the bottom of the list.

Ok so I press a button to turn it on, i press it again and it stays on, i press it once more and it turns off. Why does it stay on twice, is there 2 different modes?

If you can't see the difference between the two, don't worry about it./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Hehe, but to answer your question, one is more detailed than the other, if you look close.

Most video cards will take a dive when a rear vision mirror of some sort is enabled, as it creates another viewport that the video card must render to. For such a small feature it would indeed knock about less powerful cards.

Shift M is the default key.

You do take a fps hit when it is on, even if you dont look at it. there are 3 modes, off, on with all details and on with limited details.
