The acommodation of the tailgunner, just imagine riding your MTB backwards, off road non-stop for 8 hours in freezing cold, and you'll have some idea what it was like. Add to this a top level of adrenalin, that you need a mask to breathe, and that you can't go to the toilet all the time.
I know the B-17 actually had a chemical toilet on board, but it was very seldom used, just imagine pulling out your willie in -40 degrees temperature!

My Grandad tells me stories of what life was like living in England during the second world war.
He was about 13 when he used to see hundreds of B17s taking off from airfields, of course, being 13 and seeing all this would be amazing and wonderful, even though they were off to kill people.
He said, the feelings he went through when a couple of hours later he would see less than half returning were indescribable and the reality of war hit him then.
I hate to say this, but sometimes I wish that I could spend a week of my life living a normal life in that time around an active airfield, seeing hundereds of aircraft takign off everyday, amazing sight when your young
