I'm psyched I just got my x45 today to compliment my ch rudder pedals....but the lead warning on the usb cable freaks me out. Is this true with all usb cables, or just this one? Does this bother anyone, or is this just a stupid warning?

It's like soup labels...

Instructions
Pour contents of can into pot. Heat gently for 12 minutes. Serves 2.

Warning!
Soup may be hot when cooked.

Serously, a mate read out a label from something recently and after it says you have to cook it, it gives you a warning that it may be hot.

Personal responsibility? None of that for me, thanks!

Don't insert a USB cable in any of your body holes. It won't work.

( >>>> This is a responce from Saitek <<<< )

Thank you for purchasing our product.

What is Prop. 65?
The label you have identified on our product is what we refer to as
the
"Prop. 65" label. "Prop. 65" is short for
Proposition 65 which is a
California statue, The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act
of
1986. This Proposition was intended by its authors to protect
California citizens and the State's drinking water sources from
chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive
harm, and to inform citizens about exposures to such chemicals. It is
currently extended to warn individuals about the possible exposure to
potential cancer causing elements (i.e. lead, cadmium, etc.) found in
every day products.

Why did I find this label on the product I just purchased?
On the specific product you just purchased, the cable that connects
the
game pad/joystick to the PC contains a minute amount of substance(s)
in
which the State of California has found that pro-longed exposure to,
have been known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive
harm. Hence the warning: "Wash hands after use."

But I didn't purchase my product in California?
Although we are only required to place the "Prop 65" label
on products
sold in California, our company ships products across the United
States
and we have no control as to where a retailer may eventually end up
selling this product, so we resolve this issue by marking all products
sold within North America.

For your information, very small amounts of lead and cadmium are added
to enhance insulation (for U/L approval) as well as pliability.
Without
the lead and cadmium, the cables would become more brittle and less
resistant to fires. You will probably find that most, if not all the
power cords, extension cords, DVD, stereo, and video connectors on
almost all the appliances in your house contain no less lead or
cadmium
than our products.

Saaayyyyy......if its true that most of my cables have lead and cadmium( what the heck is cadmium? Sounds like a gay kitty trying to meow)

Lets see,3 telvisions, 2 full system stereos,2 dvd's, 3 cd's, one cd-rw,miles of speaker cable, satellite dish, multi USB and gameport devices, the kids old ps and ps2.

I'm starting to see a pattern here. I've noticed as I get older that my train of thou.............................................. .....what was we talkin about?

I always have just enough fuel to arrive at the scene of my crash.

gotta remember, in California, all the liberals are very concerned that your kids, who are raised by the village, might not be able to discern food from cables.

We don't have those warning tags in the midwest http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

It's like those warning labels you see on Lawnmowers "WARNING, DO NOT STICK HANDS OR FEET UNDERNEATH THE MOWER WHILE THE BLADE IS TURNING" You just know that there's some guy out there with no hands or feet reading one of those labels and saying to himself "Dang, that's what was wrong with the last one"
