How do I make one AI flight group (fighters) escort a second flight group (bombers) to target and back to base? i can't seem to figure it out but i know it must be possible!

Try setting the waypoints for same time/place and a slightly higher or lower altitude, say 500m higher for your 'escorts'.

cheers

In addtion you will need to use the "Set" button in the waypoint tab and connect the green reticule to each waypoint of the flight you are escorting. If you want the escort to break off, say at the target, just stop 'setting' the waypoint and that will free the escorts to attack enemy fighters/targets.
